Tech had a pretty rough early life. She lived happily with her family for a good few years of her childhood, before she was taken. Well, not so much taken as given away. Her parents were part of a scientific research group and had promised their firstborn to the project as part of their contract to work there. When Tech was almost 7 years old her parents dropped her off in a cold, white room, all the while not sure of what was going to happen.

The entire ride to the lab she babbled happily, thinking they were going out to celebrate her birthday which was coming in a few days. Her parents goaded that idea on, trying to keep Tech calm and unfortunately she went along with it almost too easily. Her mom sat her down in a metal chair and grabbed her hands.

"We love you, Tech, don't forget that," she murmured, bringing up a hand to cup the little girl's face. She just looked at her mom with confusion, "W-what do you mean? Where are you going?" Her soft voice stuttered, getting a little more worried now.

"Don't worry, we'll be right back," her father said, grabbing her mom's hand to lead her out of the room. Tech could see tears in their eyes but thought nothing of it. She still believed them even then. The door slid shut and then all Tech could see was white. Even when she looked down, she realized her mom had put her in a white dress. Only her skin and wings were providing any color at all.

Tech sat alone in the lab for a long while. She was about to fall asleep while laying on the tile floor when the door suddenly opened again and a doctor stepped in with an eerie grace. The lady smiled down at her, "Tech, hello. I'm here to take you to the room." Tech nodded slowly, picking herself up off the floor and walking over to the lady. Surely this woman knew her parents, surely this was all alright.

The lady held her hand softly and it reminded her of her mom. She stayed silent the entire walk, even when they passed by rooms with open doors that had what seemed to be other patients watching her with cold eyes. Everything about this place is cold, much too cold, Tech thought.
They quickly arrived what looked like a normal doctor's office, small space with a table. Tech was laid down on an examination table. "Don't worry, this is just a quick examination!" the doctor said kindly, the smile still plastered on her face. It kind of creeped Tech out, but she did as she was told. She must have been more tired than she thought, because she fell asleep on the examination table. Little did she know it was that combined with a local anesthetic the doctor gave her. The world was black for a good while.

Tech woke up screaming. Her shoulders and wings burned like they were on fire and her face felt funny. Three doctors had to restrain her down and the press of the sheets against her back and wings made her cry. "Get some painkillers, stat!" Something was pushed into her arm and soon she felt relief. They applied more anesthesia and kept working.

Each time she awoke, she felt bits and pieces leaving. The kind, shy, caring little girl she once was had disappeared as she was placed into various operations, training, classes, and other things. Her mind was being rewired both internally and externally. Her soft voice began to disappear and in its place came a cold, robotic one. Bits of her body replaced with metal and electronics. The entire process took years to complete.

Tech no longer has any memory of her past life, every piece plucked away and trained out. Now that she's older, she gets orders. Orders she doesn't mind doing. Orders that usually require hurting others. All her morals have been stripped, she no longer feels remorse or compassion for those she is ordered to go after. In a way, her cold voice is a clear signal of her cold-heart now.

Her parents have actually come to see her sometimes, but she never truly acknowledges them since she doesn't know who they are anymore. She treats them the same way she treats every other doctor she's forced to see - dismissively. The more cold her heart gets, the more theirs break. Tech tries to keep all doctor visits to a minimal, but she has to go in for monthly check ups to make sure her cybernetics are all still working good.

On her off days, she studies and learns and teaches herself things she'll need in the future jobs. She trains constantly whenever she feels like she has nothing to do, even though her enhancements make her much stronger already. When she's working, there's usually a lot of travel involved. She's been to many countries but no longer keeps track. She's killed many, maimed many, and also no longer keeps track of that as well.

Even she doesn't know what's to come in the future, nobody knows. Perhaps she will do jobs for the rest of her life. Perhaps one day she will be free from this contract her parents signed her into before she was even born. Nothing is certain, but what she does know is she has to kill a man tomorrow and she feels nothing.
