Personality

Paarthurnax is a dragon who does only what he wants to, when he wants to. The only things he truly fears is the shade and the Dragon Gods. He moved to ice when he was still a baby, and has devoted his entire faith to the Icewarden. He's a serious dragon, with little room for humor. He views dragons in positions of power as always worthy of respect. This is the only thing that kept him and Alduin on speaking terms before the two really bonded.
His family is his only soft spot and he would give his life for them. Although he is sad his job requires him to be away from them for so long, he views it as a worthy sacrifice. To him, his job is a way to protect them and guarantee a better future. True to his lightning roots, Paarthurnax loves working, making lists, and organization- making him perfect for his duties.

History

Paarthurnax never kept track of his siblings, and was surprised when his brother Alduin sent him a letter, asking him to visit and stay. He was even more shocked to find Alduin also lived in ice, and was the leader of Clan VulonJun. Paarthurnax agreed, thinking it was a short visit, not realizing that he was to become a permanent resident. Although he was a bit angry when he found out he was expected to stay, he truly didn't mind that much.

Paarthurnax went unnamed for most of his life; he refused to name himself until he found his "life's purpose". He discovered his purpose as a Dominance organizer within the VulonJun clan. Alduin was the one who named him, and after several moons he settled on the name Paarthurnax.

Relationships

When he joined the clan, Ruzica quickly became quite smitten with him. After a couple months of friendship, she asked to become his mate. Flustered, Paarthurnax originally turned the offer down, but eventually came back and asked to nest with her. They had three children together, one of which was sent to their sister clan in Plague.

Alduin and Paarthurnax at first seemed to be very different dragons. Alduin is superstitious, gaudy, and violent at times. These traits all made Paarthurnax very uncomfortable, and their relationship initially suffered for it. However, Paarthurnax did have a deep respect for Alduin and his position of power. As time went on, Paarthurnax found himself helping to organize exalting and training efforts, and Alduin put him full time to that. It turns out, Paarthurnax was perfect for the role, and helped lead the clan in the infamous Ice vs Plague push. Although Ice lost, Paarthurnax cemented himself as the new dominance organizer for the clan, along with forming a friendship with his brother.

Dominance Efforts

After this, it became clear to all the other dragons Paarthurnax was just like Alduin. His extreme loyalty to the Icewarden fueled Paarthurnax's spirituality, he dons expensive capes to celebrate exlating pushes, and he has no mercy on who does or doesn't get exalted. Some dragons would consider Paarthurnax something of a vice-leader of the clan, but the elders all disagree with this. Paarthurnax cares little for the politics or trade, and mostly spends his time with Alduin or the members of the Warrior's League.
