Biography

Echo is an old, well-traveled dragon. His life began in the Emberglow Hearth, but he quickly ventured off to see what else there was to learn from Sornieth. He spent time in the Viridian Labyrinth, learning the magic behind the cycles of growth and decay that fueled the Gladekeeper's domain. He then set off on a tour of the rest of the continent.

Echo stopped in a small village at the northernmost point of the Lightweaver's domain. known then as Scrollhaven, and helped its founder, Espera, to plant the seed of what would become a massive tree. Nothing to rival the Behemoth that he so cherished, but grand enough to suit the vision of the villagers. After ensuring the strength of the enchantments he had woven into the sapling's roots, Echo set off once more.

Years and years passed. The coatl had long since settled in the Reedcleft Ascent with a friendly group of aging wanderers like himself. The Ascent teemed with such colonies; such was the way of Wind's children. When Echo heard talk of "Academia Madrasa" and its ties to a massive oak tree near the Mirrorlight Promenade, he decided to make a short sojourn to the new establishment.

Echo was excited to hear of the new school and decided to stay on as a lecturer. Though he loved his peaceful life among like-minded companions, the coatl had missed practicing and teaching magic more than he realized.

At Madrasa, Echo is treasured for his patience, charm, and endless trove of stories from a lifetime spent traveling. Even students who specialize in fields like biokinesis and transmutation try to take his classes when possible. Best of all, Echo gets to hear stories from the far-flung homelands from which Madrasa's students hail.

old lore (lovely, but not what i'm going for):

Echo
Formerly Clan Amberspire: Survivor, War General, Head Tactician

[Brutal/Stubborn/Unforgiving]
Image needed.

A fiercely intelligent coatl born to a war-torn land decimated by the beast clans far before they were known to be such a serious threat.

His egg was recovered by a dragon scavenging through the debris of his parents' lair. The few dragons that did survive the attack formed a new clan that was strictly militant and focused entirely around the eradication of beast men, namely centaurs.

Echo was raised with the knowledge that the beast clans were responsible for the death of his parents, siblings, and almost all of the rest of his clan. His hatred for the creatures knew no bound and he devoted his life to the newly-forged clan's purpose, becoming a skilled tactician.

His clan did well to keep the centaurs at bay, but were unprepared for them teaming up with maren. Poisoned meat and insects killed all but three of the dragons overnight, with Echo and a tundra healer awaking to find the rest of their clan as corpses, and a snapper guard's patrol keeping her far from the place the crime occurred until it was far too late.

They had no time to mourn then, however: a troupe of archers stormed the area to pick off any surviving dragons. Only he and the tundra made it out, with the snapper unable to flee to the skies alongside them.

Eventually, he joined his only surviving clanmate in clan Amberspire. Though she has refused to take another role as anything but healer, Echo was eager to do whatever work was deemed needed to help cull the beast clans that he saw as a plague on Sornieth.

His views weren't particularly appreciated within Amberspire, in spite of his notable skill in combat. In time, he was encouraged to move on from this role there.
