Andrus was raised to be Wild Orchard Clan’s Fire representative… except, awkwardly enough, he hatched from an abandoned egg and hasn’t ever actually been to this homeland he’s supposed to know all about. Not to mention that he’s a TUNDRA. Who’s ever heard of a Fire Tundra?

Krait’s parents raised him from a hatchling, filling his head with stories and teaching him all about this culture he’s supposed to be an expert on, and teaching him Coatl as his first language instead of common. He prides himself on his excellent vocabulary in both languages, and holds tightly to that pride to bolster himself up on the days when he feels like being a Fire dragon from the Ice breed might be the most laughable thing in the world.

Krait is just a tiny bit younger than him, so they more or less grew up together and think of each other as siblings. She feels awkward too though- just look at her. Nothing but black and white. Aren’t Coatls supposed to be covered in bright plumage, glowing like the sun?

When they were younger they used to play at sticking feathers and leaves into their wings and fur, pretending to be vibrantly colored Coatls; now that they’ve grown up, they rarely take their (much better quality) false feathers out. The two of them stick together, always reminding each other that they’re perfectly good just as they are and that they don’t have anything to be ashamed about.

Both of them still wish they could see the homeland that they’ve spent so much time thinking about. Andrus so he can learn more about the culture he’s supposed to be representing, Krait so she can reassure herself that she really won’t be laughed at by her own people and that she isn’t just fooling herself by pretending she doesn’t look that bad. One of these days they'll gather up the courage to search for a Fire clan willing to host them for a visit....
