Lagoon and her mate Nephrite originally came to the Wild Orchard just to satisfy their curiosity, seeing as the Orchard was allies with their home clan of Oakrest. Nephrite wasn't impressed, but Lagoon fell in love as soon as she set foot in the Gladeveins.

The thing that really hooked her was the sight of tiny, shining fish swimming in the rivers and streams. Dragonhome was so dry and fishing opportunities few and far between. These tiny animals, rainbow and silver and swift in their graceful movements, struck her as something almost like magic. She knew right then that she never wanted to go back to calling Earth's territory home.

And Nephrite... well, he wasn't thrilled, but what could he do? He loved her too much to leave her behind over living conditions. He resigned himself to making their new home in this wet, overly green place for her sake.
