Diamondust was one of the first outsiders that Nyx allowed into the clan. She was found as a weak and disfigured hatchling, left on the borders of the Shadowbinder's domain. Nothing is remembered of her past-- or so that's what she claims.

Discovered by Heracles when he went hunting, Nyx took her in and raised her alongside her own hatchlings, Connor, Altair, and Aveline, all of whom regard her (and she, them) as family. Only they and her mate, Epimetheus, know what she truly looks like beneath the mask.

When she was taken in and nursed back to health, young, solemn Diamondust swore to protect both the clan and its members, and took on the role of border guard as soon as she could fight. Her charge is still unknown, even to her, though everyone understands that she would defend them all to her grave.

Now she patrols the border, vigilant as ever, as she attempts to repay a debt both Nyx and Heracles are convinced that she has already paid a thousand times over.

It doesn't matter. Her loyalty is unwavering and her gratitude immeasurable.

Her physical strength and prowess are only outmatched by the clan leaders themselves and Aveline, with whom she thinks of as possessing equal strength. Her own mate, Epimetheus, might not be as vigilant as she is (few dragons are as disciplined as her), but they love each other all the same.

Despite her seemingly imposing stature and aura, Diamondust is rather affectionate and kindhearted, always ready to rescue or help those in need. To all outward appearances, she may seem stoic and undefeatable, but those who know the true face of the guardian beneath the armour understands that she is but mortal.

Her fatal flaw, her tragic flaw, in fact, is all too ironic.

To save her family, she would give up the world.
