Strife was a guardian who had lost her charge when the clan was attacked by a beastclan. Her beloved mate, was killed in the skirmish, and Strife was driven half-mad by grief and guilt when she could not stop the killing blow. In a fit of desperation, she found herself stumbling to the last place a grieving dragon should ever go: the Scarred Wasteland. She did not realise it at the time, but the urge to return to a place she had never once visited was a biological response to a call deep in her bones: the unmistakable instinct of a Spawn dragon. Fortunately, Strife survived the perilous journey. As she peered over the lip of the Wyrmwound, all she felt was... numbness. Her mate, her charge, her purpose was gone. The decision to leap was one made on impulse, but before she plunged into the virulent pit, a pair of claws grabbed her waist and set her down on solid ground. Furious that her attempt had been prevented, she whipped around only to find a figure that looked quite like her: another Spawn dragon, Interfector. He convinced her to come to his clan, if not to heal, then for a drink. So concerned for her well-being was he that she agreed almost automatically, still a little in shock. Strife went hesitantly—what more had she to lose?— expecting nothing. What she found was a welcoming group of dragons who gave her aid and asked no questions. In time, she would call them her family. Her stay lasted much longer than she originally intended. She found herself liking Interfector, ever the eager warrior, immensely, and the two grew closer over the years and eventually, they became loving mates. The growing clan was small, with few warriors to defend it properly, and she didn't intend to let what happened to her nest-clan happen again to her new home. While Strife still suffers from nightmares and panic attacks, she understands that there is strength in survival. She had a new purpose, now. From the ashes her resolve has hardened, and as she made her way to recovery, the ranks gained a seasoned warrior and a practised marksman. She may have lost her old clan, but she will not lose this one.
