Biography
-CYPRUS- Heir Apparent[/center] |
Penpals with Yoko of their allied clan. Cyprus runs the clan meetings, compiling monthly reports on issues of importance, voices to be heard, and problems to unravel. She also acts as a link between the Fishybreath and allied clans, maintaining correspondence and orchestrating gatherings. Small but outspoken and stubborn, Cyprus staunchly earned the respect of her clanmates with her unmoving insistence on fairness and a balance of power within the clan. Spends her free time with Spake, who helps her relax and enjoy herself without letting the pressures of her duties bother her, they’ve been caught getting up to all sort of hijinks. |
CLAN LORE
On the furthest shore along the south-most coast of the Southern Icefield sits a huge, dark, stone outcropping that houses the snug lair of the Fishybreath clan. The ocean crashing against the jagged shore and the cries of seagulls can be heard echoing throughout the extensive system of caverns that makes up the lair, lit warmly by flickering oil lanterns and draped with thick furs and wooly carpets. In the evenings dragons gather in the central hall around a huge stone fireplace, kept burning constantly to keep the entire lair warm. The land outside the lair is frosty and barren, requiring hunters and gathering parties to range far away in search of resources. The clan is hodgepodge but tightly knit, with its fair share of bickering but a strong sense of family.
Established in a seaside cave by a travel weary Guardian, it slowly grew as wandering dragons stumbled upon the last warm resting place in the Southern Icefield before endless miles of sea. Most of the earliest members didn’t stay for long, including the Guardian, who eventually left to join the Icewarden after gathering her strength. The few who remained were determined to survive and make themselves a place they could call home. A practical and warm Spiral named Norgannon spearheaded the efforts, organising chores and maintaining the peace. Two Guardians, Hestia and Peitho, were his stalwart companions and equally determined to create a life there.
The clan is still growing slowly, as few dragons pass through the icy tundra, and even fewer choose to stay, but anyone who needs a warm nest to rest in is welcome in the lair of the Fishybreath.
No one was really sure who caused the flood, or if it was possible to pin the blame on any individual, but the precision and absoluteness of the destruction lead to hushed murmurs of godly wrath.
It was by Ava's grace the clan wasn't flattened between the dark waters and bone-deep freeze of the tundra. The entire clan was ushered, shell-shocked and battered, away from the lashing storm and far across the sea to a sun bleached shore.
They hid there- trespassers in the land of the Lightweaver, timidly living off the land and nursing their wounds for several weeks. Eventually a pilgrimage was organised, lead by Cyprus and Ava, to beg the deity give grace, which she did eagerly.
The clan was granted a large swath of sunny seaside cliffs upon which the ruin of a great garden sprawled, under the condition they restored the land to its past splendour and maintained it indefinitely.
Now the clan rests in the shadow of the Beacon, tending to the lush stepped gardens of the Light. Nestled among the foliage are the groundskeepers dwellings, simple buildings of earth and clay arranged in a mess of bridges and channels all the way down through the heart of the bluff. The Fishybreath Clan is rather unused to the warmth and light of the Sunbeam Ruins, but the briny air and crash of the waves below are the same as they've always been, so they do not find it that difficult to call the new place home.
