Hailing from a nature clan, Sinope was a clear choice as Head Gardener. She was also a clear choice for Ganymede's mate. She is quiet and reserved, almost as much of a mystery as her mate to the rest of the clan. Although she spends more time with their fellow dragons than her mate, she is equally shrouded in shadows. Many pieces of her past are missing from the whole puzzle and it has led to many speculations. She doesn't confirm or deny these, letting imaginations run wild while she and her mate alone know the truth. In spite of this mysterious past, she is fondly referred to as "mother" by many of the dragons in the clan. Her caring nature and gentle teaching has much to do with this.

The truth of her past is not so simple as the rumors. As a young hatchling in the Gladekeeper's realm, Sinope was found by those who would corrupt her and make her into something grotesque. The reprehensible creatures that abducted her from her nest were nearly successful in their corruption but her spirit was stronger. The Gladekeeper may have helped gather her strength, and before the creatures could infect Sinope fully with the Shade, she broke free. She was not unscathed - a scar on her lip and a darker eye were her trophies of the encounter. Though few dragons realize she is Shade Touched from that dark blemish in her eye, she knows the truth and fights it every day. Her will is stronger, as long as she has a reason to keep fighting. She will outlast the Shade. She has to.
