"Warden of Magma" Vicious | Cunning | Vengeful | Irate Clan Surveyor and Monitor of Magma Floes Volcanology and Deep Earth Specialist 
In the first age, when the world was still in a primal state, the four deities clashed together in a spectacular array of elemental energy. Stone crumbled, flames erupted from the core of the planet, and volcanoes ravaged whatever surface it came near. Oceans swept across the molten rock, torrential gusts of wind swept the ashes far and wide, and the very earth itself heaved and rocked under the forces of its brothers and sisters. Years upon years, generations upon generations, and countless passings of the sun and moon have since occurred, and the world is now a relatively peaceful place. Deep within the cracked surface of Dragonhome, under the pits of the deepest cavern, the darkest trench, far beyond where the sun shines bright, where the temperatures rise and the pressure builds, there is a dragon who rests among the flames. The Deep Earth, so it's called, a weaving, spiraling circuitry of lava veins that flow beneath all of Sornieth, happens to host the home of a dragon with blazing eyes and molten scales. He rests among the liquid stone, a rage burning deep within his heart, a pure zealot of the Flamecaller and the expansion of the land of Fire There is little that could stop this dragon from wrecking all around him in fiery rage. The surface of Dragonhome may quiver from an earthquake, or an aftershock from his powerful tunneling and temper tantrums. Earth dragons shrug them off. They're just earthquakes, right? 
Veins, an idealistic Spiral with scales of molten rock and a heart of pure flame, is the culprit to these sudden earthquakes and occasional volcanic eruption. Of course, no one within the Clan knows of his misdeeds. He joined the Clan ranks with the promise to oversee the Deep Earth and keep the Clan safe from the natural disasters that often occur among the rocky mountain ranges. Little does anyone realize, Veins hates the Earth flight. To him, the very mountains and stone they worship are sole property of the Flamecaller. Her magma floes that had cooled and created the rock and mountain ranges are not theirs, and never were. The very idea of an Earth flight is absolute bull to him and it angers him greatly. He has dedicated his life and soul to the expansion of the Fire flight and will fulfill his purpose to the greatest extent. Despite his irrational behavior, Veins is not a fool. He works slowly with calculated action, building an elaborate, fail proof plan to overthrow the Clan - and the entire flight - in a fiery death never before seen after the First Age. All for the Flamecaller. All for the flight of Fire. His purpose is clear, and his values are true. There is no fault in his actions. 
Veins does not show himself readily to anyone. Only very few dragons ever manage to visit him - the entire group of the Clan's fire dragons, for example, being the only ones who can survive the pressure and heat, and even then they say he does not want visitors. His voice sizzles with dripping discontempt for all those around him. Who would even want to see him? His "mate", Scoria, is a dragon who does reside with him. Veins believes her to be his partner in crime and manipulates her in every way he can. A fire dragon like her should surely believe his vindication of the Earth flight is true and just, of course! However, his time spent in total darkness has caused his eyesight to be next to nothing, so often he will overlook details he cannot see...such as Scoria's golden light eyes. Her ultimate purpose is to stop him, but again, she must move gently as to not alarm him. It's a process of endurance, as Veins is an angry dragon, and she is more than often his outlet. It's no surprise Veins enjoys outings to the Ashfall Wastes. He will often visit his family, his friends and colleagues, and eventually rest at Clan Helfonaur, one of the Wild Path's allies. It is here he will raise a clutch wit Scoria before moving back to his shadowy deeds beneath the wretched, filthy land of Dragonhome. The worst part about Veins is his incredible ability to keep secrets. He will never tell everyone everything, not even Scoria. Not his friends or family. His idealistic mindset is borderline insane at this point, and his paranoia grows by the day. He would never tell anyone, especially not Clan Helfonaur, knowing they would surely rise to defend the Wild Path should his volcanic rage reach full fruition. But with his life dedicated to vengeance and greater purpose, nothing fiscal bothers him anymore. He's on a whole new level. And it's a terrible way to live. |
