Gossan's Story
Gossan vividly remembers his first day of life. There had been a dragon reaching for one of the stones near the Pillar of the World when there had been a spark of magic between the dragon and several stones. Startled the dragon had leapt back and Gossan took his first breath. Life surged through his body, granted to him by Earthshaker through the very confused Runecarver. The Runecarver that gave him life called him a golem, an artificial construct-like being.
After the Runecarver answered his numerous questions Gossan started his trek though the world, looking for his calling. Early on he discovered that he quiet enjoyed treasure, gems, and swords. It didn't take him long to discover the perfect profession: Pirating. He took to it like other dragons took to flying. His treasure hoard grew, but under his rough pirate exterior was a heart of gold. While it was true he kept some of the treasure for himself he used parts of it to help those in need, especially the less fortunate than him in the clan he's come to call home.
He's known as Nice Pirate Gossan.
Due to his love of all things shiny it seemed like the perfect pair when he started to develop feelings for the clan's prospector Skarn. Gossan started courting her and found her to be quite hard to impress. His gifts of jewels had no effect, she spent all day pulling them out of the earth they weren't very impressive. Deciding that simple things weren't going to impress her, Gossan slipped into the mines one night, taking a pickaxe with him, and started mining, looking for gems. He came out in the morning, carrying a handful of emeralds. He then learned everything he needed to know about jewelry making.
He disappeared for several days, paying to use another dragon's workshop, and started to make the perfect gift for Skarn. He worked the gems, cutting them the way he was shown, and then worked on the band, working the metal until he was satisfied. With the utmost care Gossan worked the gems into the settings he made and then finished it off. Finally satisfied with the project Gossan removed himself from the workshop and found Skarn. He offered the arm band to her. At first Skarn just stared at it, and then smiled. She allowed him to help her put it on and then gave him a kiss on the cheek. It was the start of a beautiful romance.

Golem Lore
Sometimes, when conditions are right, the magic-infused debris left over from the creation of Runic Golems somehow forms itself into a Runestone. No one knows how this occurs. Even more rarely, when the source materials come from the area around the world pillar and then the left over debris comes into contact with the magic of a RuneCarver, a tiny golem-like creature is born.
