SYCAMORE
Personality:Forest Ranger  " I'll protect the Shrieking Wilds "
Sycamore is a grouchy and shrewd dragon. He is often quarrelsome with other dragons and creatures, especially if they show disrespect to him or nature- though some argue those two things are one and the same in his mind. He does this out of his fondness for nature and can mean well. He just doesn’t show it well. His overprotective nature makes others feel nervous around him, as they fear he’ll snap at them. Lore: Sycamore was born in the Shrieking Wilds where he grew up with his parents in the forest. While he was taught to hunt and fight for himself, the young dragon was never the strongest of his clan or siblings. This left him little rank within the family to do more than decorate their nest, to which he eagerly began using the natural beauty of the forest around them to do. His love for protecting nature grew and while he was a Nature dragon, his parents weren’t exactly pleased with him for it. They’d scold him for trying to protect creatures meant to be eaten and Sycamore soon grew accustomed to arguing back. After one fight in particular, the young dragon was driven from his green homeland and left to find his own way of life. The lone dragon didn’t mind though, as he saw this as an opportunity to find dragons who would appreciate his desire to protect nature. Sycamore was practically obsessed with keeping the world as green and alive as the place he’d grown up in. After finding and joining the Adventurer’s Guild - after being found in the Scorched Forest wandering lost - he declared himself a Forest Ranger and swore to protect the natural world around his new home as well. Being from Nature however, the ‘dead’ looking state of the Scorched Forest does tend to make him overreact at times about trying to ‘save the dying forest’. However, his reactions are typically met with a mere eye roll more than anything else. Diana and Callisto have helped curb his overwhelming personality since they arrived. As a Forest Ranger, Sycamore protects the plants and creatures in nature. The job requires him to patrol the land and take care that nothing causes harm to the natural cycle as well as protect rare species from going extinct should any be found. When he isn’t working Sycamore is typically found lecturing other dragons about preserving and protecting even a singular blade of grass, which is usually followed by Diana or Callisto dragging the shrieking ranger away. If he doesn’t happen to be doing that then he’s probably making some vegan styled meat in a cauldron to eat later. |
