Zdravka was a bright and energetic young coatl, born with bright vibrant colors deep within the Starwood Strand. She took to creating marvelous dishes made of any seafood she could find, and eventually branched out into meat and vegetable dishes as well. Her mother was always sickly and magicless, shunned from her home clan due to her fading plumage. Imagine her joy when Zdravka was born a healthy and mirthful child. She romped in the glowing forests, and stayed by her beloved parents, content and at peace in her world. Eventually she found love in a soft hearted coatl, who had known the pain of being shunned by his clan. The two fell in love and lived happily for many moons. Then he left her. Alone and heartbroken, her plumage began to fade just like her mothers. Her magic shriveled up and died. There was nothing left of the happy coatl, only pain and longing.

Her parents grew concerned, and sent her back to the Ashfall Wastes to see if that could possibly cure their once joyful daughter. She made the journey back to her ancestral home, but nothing changed. Her heart was just an empty vessel, and it felt as if nothing could repair it again. Ceorl found her limp body barely hanging onto life beside one of the magma vents outside their territory. After many days in Caldera's care, Zdravka regained consciousness, listless and broken, she didn't leave the medical tent for weeks, even though she was physically healthy. All the while, Ceorl stayed by her side, doing her best to keep the troubled coatl alive. Only after bringing Zdravka some poorly cooked salmon, did Ceorl get a reaction out of her, and it was pure disgust. She roused herself out of the bed and set off to find the kitchen and rectify the situation. She was a cook, after all! Her skill in the kitchen awed the clan, and they eagerly tried to convince her to stay with them as their cook. She had no energy to travel, so she agreed. Many days she doesn't move, just lies in bed, motionless and lost in her own mind. Day by day, it gets better. Her plumage hasn't regained its vibrant colors, but the fading has seemed to stop. She tries not to think of her lost mate, or why he left, instead she focuses on her work and her new home. While Benedict and Kalapana are weary of her fading colors, Ceorl continues to stay by her side and offer support, as she too knows what Zdravka is going through.
