Born into the Clan, Northward is part of Galiana and Westward's dynasty. He's a favourite of Galiana because of his dedication to the family. Like the rest of the family, he attends their meetings and lobbies for Galiana to get a position on the leadership council.

Like his brothers Eastward and Southward, Northward works as a hunter-gatherer, one of the lowest-ranking jobs in the Clan. Every day he heads out to gather food and resources. For big hunts, he teams up with his brothers. He is utterly dedicated to his biological family, something frowned upon by the rest of the Clan as the entire clan is supposed to be a larger family all dedicated to each other. Skywall recruits Northward for muscle when he's going on a more dangerous expedition.
