Biography

B E L A V A R I E L
The Fallen Angel

Warrior and Light Ambassador

Clumsy / Righteous / Earnest / Empathetic

"ut incepit fidelis sic permanet. ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem."
orchids swaying in green meadows never tread upon
suns sunken into the horizon alight with the hues of trepidation
she fell like a leaf in early autumn unto the windy sky;
carrying her to redemption
her soul has no mortality to lie
A fallen angel may have lost it's halo but still keeps it's grace
so she flies even higher into the sky to discover her true place

STATUS - Physically Weaker, Heightened Magical Potential

ETYMOLOGY - [ Beh-lah-vah-ree-ehl ] her language is too complex and advanced for dragon tongue, so her name is only a fragment of her true title. Basically, its 'angel/warrior of purple meadows and sunken summers'

RELATIONS - Her brothers and sisters fall to earth, but they often have families of their own, so she wonders if they are still family to her. No known relations.

BELONGINGS - Detailed and beautiful earrings gifted to her by Lazarus. A longbow she can conjure, and a double edged sword that gleams gold even in a dark area.

OTHER INFO - Sometimes has difficulty communicating, Common is very different from her native language. Isn't as forgetful as other tundras, but her memory is slowly losing traction on her past life. Soon she fears she won't recall who she once was.

BIOGRAPHY-
~

The angels, the celestial beings, the warriors of lesser deities, whatever they are called, are all revered as guardians of truth and honor. Angels have no place in flight dominance or the mortal world, in fact, they only act as guard dogs to the gates of the afterlife, making sure no one goes the wrong way. It was only during the early shade attacks were the angels truly needed, demons twisted into terrible monsters were met with beings of pure light, the first handcrafted creation of the Lightweaver. Though these angels were no dragons, they were celestials that were sentient enough to guard their post for millennia, that was until one of the ancient warriors had a mortal thought.

Belavariel, angel of orchid meadows and sunken summers, as she was called, was battling a surfaced demon named Surtr along with her comrades when she realized, Surtr didn’t crawl out of Hell on his own. A glowing mortal soul still glimmered pitifully within the beast, a flicker of good drowned out almost completely by the thunderous fiery rage that Surtr brought forth. As the demonic energy was being beaten out of the monster, a new kind of rage enveloped the demon, a draconic roar gave her the notion that there was indeed a mortal soul still trapped in the monster. Bela continued to maim him, but withheld the final blow, once delivering it, declared the beast dead even though she held back her celestial power just to keep the innocent dragon from being dragged back to Hell with Surtr. Her troop returned to the heavens, and her deeds did not go unnoticed for long. Bela’s supervisors recognized her mistake, deemed her unworthy of her rank, and sentenced her to disintegration. Though her highest supervisor had mercy upon her, and gave her a slightly lesser consequence, a life in the mortal world, where she could earn back her rights to live within the heavens.

Bela found herself inside a young tundra female’s body, poached away in a boat’s cabin headed towards the Vyridian Labyrinth. Hatching early, she crawled out of her egg with all the grace of a newborn giraffe. The new body was too confining to her liking, and her limbs felt so odd, pain, also was not a nice feeling to learn. The poachers noticed the early arrival, and proceeded to throwing her off of the vessel. Faced with a new sensation, fear, the fallen angel felt her old grace and power returning. With a bright flash of light, everyone on the vessel was blinded, but in the turmoil, she careened off of the starboard. The water around her was also not breathable, she discovered. The blue expanse was unrelenting, with every thrash, she sank more. The darkness finally closed, but something held her up. A dragon with a red face carried her to the surface, revealing the ship overflowing with fighting dragons and eggs being carted away to safety, the dragon said something reassuring, but she was already unconscious.

Waking up in a tree-made den, a feathery dragon smiled at her, another feathered dragon, with a pointed face, grinned and asked her a question. Bela had not even thought about ways to communicate, her mouth was a clumsy assortment of teeth and gums, all Bela could say were some unrecognizable blabber. Though as soon as she got the hang of it she asked her own question in her native tongue.

“Te Rogamus Audi Nos” (We Beseech Thee to hear us)

The coatl laughed and left the cave, while the skydancer stayed to organize materials, muttering to herself. Bela was confused, was this really the mortal realm in all its glory? She stumbled out of the cave and was met with a enormous mass of green forest. Enamored, the skydancer joined her and spoke a few words, it was soothing, but nothing like her homeland. Bela asked another question.

“Quid est Nomen Tibi” (To whom do I acquaint with?)

The skydancer looked baffled, and brought out a thick tome and asked another question, seeing that Bela talked in another vernacular. Bela proceeded to introducing herself.

“Belavariel Nomen Meum” (I am the one called Belavariel)

The dragon’s brow furrowed, and wrote it down something else, but then said something roughly that Bela could understand.

“Quod ultimum est,et ipsius linguae” (What is thy tongue speaking?)

Bela responded, “Linguae angelis dae” (The tongue of angels)

The skydancer smiled, and introduced herself, “Ego Vocor Aurorae” (I am called Aurora)

Aurora flew off quickly to tell the coatl her discoveries, and Bela finally had time to think. Her tundra mind made her memories of being an angel very spotty, but she could still remember who she was. This was her world now, and it would grow to be better fitting than her first ever was. All was well until her past came back to haunt her, it came in the form of a battered red ridgeback, accused of mass murder of the highest degree.
