He/him Shepherdess - Sloy Remix • Feint - Snake Eyes Caregiver ____________________ Despite his foreboding appearance, Silent is one of the only dragons in the Clan who is able to manage all of the unruly hatchlings- yes, all of them. It's unknown how he does it, especially without a voice, but something about him seems to calm them down. He also seems to have a strange relationship with luck, as well. Things fall into place around him, and it's become quite common for his clan mates to fight over him. He's become the unsuspecting witness to a lot of strange pranks and bets. |

His name was Silent, for he had no voice to name himself with. Of course, he had one once. But that was many years ago, a time so far away Silent himself can't remember what his voice sounded like. But the strangest thing is that no one can seem to figure out how he lost it in the first place. Those skeptical of anything magic or mythical believe he lost it in a sparring accident, despite a lack of scars around his throat. Those more inclined towards magical explanations argue that it would be impossible to sustain that kind of damage to your voice without it being visible, and believe he traded it away for his luck. Others believe it could be disease, and some joke that 'he yelled too much in his earlier days and he broke his voice.' Even Silent, when asked, will just shrug. Either he doesn't remember, or doesn't want to say. It was quite a surprise when he stumbled into the clan, looking lost and confused. And it was even more of a surprise when it was discovered he couldn't speak, gesturing and mimicking to try and get his point across. And just like with his lost voice, no one ever knew where he came from. |

My name is Silent, and I once had a name. I once had a voice too. But sometimes, in order to get things you want, you have to make sacrifices. And sometimes, you have to bet something you'd hate to lose. I'll admit it, I haven't always had such a wonderful life. Nowadays it's nice, being able to watch the hatchlings and make sure they're safe. Even being passed around from dragon to dragon as a 'good luck charm' is actually quite funny, and if I could laugh, I would. When I was younger, I got caught up in some bad times. Nothing horrible, but it was hard to focus on the long term when you're trying to just live day-to-day. Luck was down, and I desperately wanted it back. So I played for it. I mean, when you find a powerful individual outside one of your favorite places to hang out holding a pair of die and asking you if you'd like to play for anything you want, you don't exactly refuse, do you? And especially not when you're feeling down and like everything you do is completely worthless. First time, I lost my voice. Second, my name. The third time, I won- won back my luck. And decided it was time to start anew. |
