Whenever I come around, everyone retreats in fear. They whisper, gossip, and mumble about my mysterious past, and my dark upbringing. My clan mates, however, accepted me into their elegant Court of Eleven. Despite the secrets surrounding my arrival, I managed to find a place amidst peace and tranquility. .

My dearest friends Ione, Nightmare, Maleficent and Tyra stride with me in our solitude, since we are not as social as the other hundred or so members of our clan. I see us as an extension of the astronomers and dreamers of the other House, but no, their members distance themselves from our kind of magic. We don't flourish in the starlight, but the shadows, yet we are not afraid to dance in the light .

My children are afraid of me for reasons I have yet to understand. It is probably the way my magic pours from my talons, affecting everyone I'm close to. Sirius and Wendigo, my sons who stayed, chose to live in the House of Glade rather than remain here in Shadowstride. I cannot rid my scales of the darkness that has clouded over our family, but a light shines in the distance; this is not our fate….
