Venka

The illustrious Cap'n Venka is a well-known figure, and one beloved to the Steppe. He captains the Boundless, a sky-pirate vessel infamous for being crewed exclusively by Snappers. Snappers may seem like an unusual choice for an airship crew, but Venka's choice is a clever one: being flightless on their own, Snappers in Wind Flight clans quickly adapted by learning to pilot balloons, airships, and other vessels -- they're renowned for being more skilled than most dragons simply because they rely so much on honing their piloting skills. Snappers are close in size to Coatls, too, meaning the Boundless need not be excessively huge, heavy, and unwieldy to house them. Most importantly of all: Snappers never sleep. Catching the Boundless by surprise is no easy task.

Venka himself, though cunning and silver-tongued, can be staggeringly reckless at times. A bold Coatl who answers to nobody but himself, Venka lives off the thrill of adventure and freedom. He's a very firm believer in luck; more often than not, his propensity to gamble has caused trouble for the crew. Especially when he butts heads with Nixie, his sworn blood-enemy. The two are tied together by a prophecy from deep within the Spiral Keep, but both rebel against their fates with all they've got.
