Biography
You open the door to the ramshackle hut, shaped like a ship. It looks like a salvaged wreck, and for all you know, it just might be. The whole place smells like fish, salt, and fresh sea breeze, and you see all sorts of fish and things ready for you to buy. There's a door in the back that's wide open, and you can see the sea spread right beneath you. You get the feeling that Kaiko just slips underwater to hunt every morning.
"Welcome to Kaiko's Seafood!" A booming voice says, startling you. It belongs to a big Guardian with glowing scales and wings that range from the dark blue color of ocean trenches to the filtered light of the shallows.
"I'm Kaiko," he says, nodding to you and gesturing to the fish. "We have plenty of fish here, and each will feed you for one food point. Buy as many as you like, they're two diamonds each. I had a big catch today as I was diving, so we're not in short supply." He turns over to the wall, and gestures to a few more items as well. "We also sell pearls for five diamonds, salt for one, harpoon guns for eight- you can use those to fish as long as there's water- and a snorkeling mask for eight as well."
He leans against the wall and absent-mindedly picks up a book that lay in the corner, The Fisherman's Epic. Doesn't sound too interesting. Seagulls caw in the distance, and Kaiko is peacefully quiet. You get the sense that he doesn't feel the need to say much.
