Cinan misses his glory days. In the past, he was a great assassin, maybe even one of the best, though he’d avoid saying that so no one would accuse him of stroking his ego. He’d been trained as a dragonet by his current and only clan to one day become a feared assassin, taking down both corrupt and innocent figures alike. He’d been a terrifying assassin too; Striking at night with only his full-body tattoo seen slightly in the moonlight, instilling fear and earning his name as the ‘Bone Assassin’. Of course, he’d still be doing his job as an assassin if something didn’t happen. A few years after becoming an adult, he accepted one of his most important jobs ever; to kill the leader of a clan to prevent an all-out war between said clan and an ally clan. Twenty of the best dragons were sent on this mission. Five made it out that day.

On that day, Cinan nearly died. A steel beam used for construction fell on him and his companions while he and a group of three were scouting the base. The other two died. It nearly killed him, but he managed to escape death when another three dragons on the missions lifted the beam and saved his life. Cinan managed to survive, but one of his legs became useless because of that, forcing him to leave his time as an assassin in the past.

Being unable to help by fighting, he decided to do so another way. A year after his accident and forced resignation, Cinan got a sudden idea which would stop him from spending all his time staring at the walls or watching young dragonets training for their future. If he couldn’t help his clan by fighting, he could help his clan by bartending. With other dragons pitching in to help, whether it be just a day’s worth or two months worth of work, Cinan’s bar was built. The first few dragons to enter, dragons like Hel, Gehanna and Typhon, became regulars. The bar serves as a place to rest and relax safely with others in between and before missions, especially if they are or were stressful and dangerous.

As most bars do, Cinan’s bar was filled to the brim with rowdy dragons. During the early night, there would be dragons dancing and unafraid to touch each other, groups of laughing dragons gathered around to play bar games and dragons mindlessly flirting with each other while having a drink. What the barkeeper truly likes about his bar is the rare moments when the more artistic dragons come to visit. Musicians like the Wildclaw Cimejes or storytellers like the Skydancer Amphitrite visit the bar and show off their talents, aweing and entertaining the crowd. The artists brought their own life to the bar.

Sometimes, Cinan will forlornly watch as younger, stronger dragons walk out of the bar to their respective missions and he is left all alone. He wishes that the day the accident hadn’t happened. That the ropes holding up the steel bar used for construction had been stronger, that they hadn’t snapped. That Cinan wasn’t frozen in place watching the bar fall in slow-motion. That the other two in his group didn’t die. That everything is the way it once was. But it isn’t. So, Cinan does his part in the clan, doing other things besides being a barkeeper. He gathers plants, sorts the food, takes care of hatchlings and in his spare time even comes up with designs for weapons. Although he can’t help in fights, he never stopped helping the clan he is loyal to.

In his free time, Cinan enjoys thinking up new brews for his bar. Sometimes, he is joined by bored dragons who are off-duty and enjoy mixing and swirling. Cinan also enjoys attempting to learn the arts. When a musician, artist or storyteller is free, the Mirror will have requests for lessons which usually are accepted. Although he was never naturally adept at anything besides physical fighting, Cinan has been getting better at various different things. One being non-offensive spell casting. Sometimes, Cinan thinks of what would have happened if everything changed. Maybe, if he’d been faster, he’d still be slaughtering mercilessly today. It’s better to live in the present than dwell on what could have been.
