I am Carramar, the great tree of which Auminthina have called home. The take refuge in a cave system beneath me, supported by my roots. I was one of the first trees nurtured by the Gladekeeper. I have watched the Auminthian dragons hatch and grow, laugh and cry, live and die.

The Clan of Auminthina is a reclusive one. They very rarely participate in any outside activities, no Auminthian strays far from their territory. Their territory is defined by the thick undergrowth in the deepest depths of the Viridian Labyrinth, where the trees are so tall and our branches so dense that no light can make it to the forest floor. Many hatchlings spent their whole hatchlinghood in only artificial light, whether it be of fire, magic, or glowing mushrooms. Every hatchling does get to see the sun once they come of age, and then they can choose whether to explore the world or stay with their kin.

History Of Auminthina

Auminthina originally survived in a peaceful little glade along a river in the southern Everbloom Gardens. Rivercrest was the area that they lived in, it was a simple elevated field, on the outskirts of the denser forest and just up the slope from the river. A small series of basic huts woven with living vines. They eventually moved into the trees, with more complex Treehouses. This seemed like a perfect way to live as they had easy access to food, water and it was near a road to a major trading hub for the Nature Flight.

The clan had no name at this point, they were simply known as 'the dragons of Rivercrest'. Not many other clans called the area home while Auminthina were there. They had many allies back there, mostly from surround clans or the people of that Trading Village. Even an unlikely bond with a farm on the far north of the Viridian Labyrinth, Lilyglow Fields.

They survived with minimal bumps along their road, a very peaceful existance almost completely undisturbed by petty conflicts between dragons. To be fair, Auminthina was among the smallest clans in the area.

However, Auminthina's peace was broken. No, shattered. Something referred to as 'The Kidnapping'. This was the greatest tragedy to the clan. What happened was an insane dragon from the Wind flight came and stole four hatchlings. The Thief had tied them to a tree, and skinned them alive to make special kites. Gilgandra was the only one to escape, with thanks to Serkonos.

All of Auminthina, with the lead of Axinite, decided that their hatchlings were unsafe here, so they packed up and moved the location of their village to one of the thickest areas of the forest, not too far from the base of the Behemoth. Entangled between my roots.

They never get a spot of sun with me, each surrounding tree stands hundreds of meters tall. Every other Nature dragon says Auminthina are crazy to live here. Not only will new saplings and moss cover anything permanent, but the debris falling fro the canopy will cover anything else that won't move. But Auminthina has remained embedded within the darkest depths of the forest for generations. The generations after the kiddnapping that is. Forest Song and Birch are responsible for digging out the tunnels.

They went to great lengths to deter any single soul from daring to find their lair. They even forged a legend of a great beast that lurks were the light doesn't reach. One that will stalk you, and play devious mind tricks on you until you're entirely helpless, and then will it go in for the kill.

Auminthina considered this life style, and decide to hold Clan Initiation Ceremonies in the sunlight. As said previously, the hatchlings are usually overwhelmed and frightened by this truth, and often choose to stay in the comfort of the enclosed tangles of roots. But for the first time ever, Runyia thought different. This shocked the whole clan, but her sister, Kulas, the most. Kulas personally believed this to be bad, and shunned her sister's presence. Runyia was eventually so overwhelmed by her negative attitude that she left to see the world.

Each and every member is sworn to secrecy. No outsiders are allowed in, or to know of the location of their entrance. Everyone was so shaken by the sudden death of those hatchlings, that they couldn't possibly risk anything like that ever happening again. It was only Vaniri who stumbled across the rune marked gate nestled within my roots. She of corse had been imprisoned, awaiting her fate.

The arrival of the diplomatically skilled Galexio, had granted Vaniri's freedom. Though, Vaniri felt bad for this clan of paranoid dragons, so she and Galexio stayed to help. Vaniri called for help from Wavewatcher, to come down and help purify Auminthina's filthy drinking water.

Soon after, Glower was dancing around in my branches. And of coarse broke one, and plummeted to her doom, as her wings were entangled in vines. It was Birch who caught her, and took her inside. None of the clan approved. The Kidnapping was done by a Wind dragon, and Glower was definitely old enough to have played a part in it. Birch eventually calmed everyone down, but still no one treats Glower as an equal, Birch is her only friend.

Eventually the clan calmed down and expected her. Eventually Auminthina started to accept new comers into the clan. Molly was the first. She soon brought down Terrinallum, and not long after, Alula followed. However, the clan is still quite strict on who enters and leaves.

But once those who were there without entering, the hatchlings, caused a problem without the interference of any lunatics. Caleb, Sabro, Troicada and their father, Bailey, were out fishing. When Sabro had a cheeky little idea that could only end in tears. He dared Caleb to grab a yabby from the bottom of the river, so he could deliberately shoved him off the bridge, almost ending Caleb's life. Bailey could only watch on in horror as his own son was thrashed against the terrifyingly large roots infiltrating the river, and eventually laying motionless in the wider eddies. Swift little Troicada raced down the river to find help for his doomed brother, getting Wavewatcher's attention. He at first suspected nothing of the panicking hatchling, until he slowed and shakily let the jumbled words pour out of his mouth. She shrieked in terror about what happened to his oldest brother. So Wavewatcher grabbed a large fallen branch from below the inky surface, reached out and snagged it's thin but strong sticks on Caleb's mangled body, pulling him back in.

Finally all was calm in Auminthina, the hatchlings were playing, the filtered water was flowing. Everything was better than ever. Thunderbug had installed wires and cords carefully placed around my roots. Stretching up my trunk to a wide array of Solar panels, newest model devoloped in the Shifting Expanse. Auminthina, with more funds, they were able to hire Aine, a well trained technician to come in and install more comfortable appliances, there's no point in have a reliable power supply without something to use that.
