Most know Cirrus for his love of storms and frost. The young ones regard him with a little bit of awe- haven’t you heard, Cirrus controls the WEATHER? He chuckles internally a bit at this, but keeps his face stern to maintain his tough exterior. In reality, he has very little to do with the weather, even when requested by his clan leaders. He feels meddling with the forces of nature is unwise at best, saying something about the flap of a butterfly’s wing and the mightiest of storm gales being too similar for comfort. Nevertheless, his storm sense is always dead on when he gives warning of approaching blizzards.

Under the distant face he puts on Cirrus secretly loves hatchlings, even as they fill him with melancholy. He still mourns a mate long lost, wondering about hatchlings they never had. No one knows what happened to his mate; Caici has thought to press, but his face always turns stoney and he refuses to answer. She sometimes wonders at his unwillingness to weatherwork, but if she suspects it to be connected to his lost mate, she says nothing. To this day he is most at home when it snows, and if sometimes it looks like his eyes are a little too glassy it’s easy to blame it on the wind in his eyes.

Unbeknownst to the rest of the clan, Cirrus hasn't lost all of his children, nor is he as powerless as he likes to pretend. It's true that he's most at home in the ice and snow, and he channelled that love into two of his greatest creations: ice golems Glacier and Blizzard. They act as singleminded, tireless protectors of the clan, and he loves them like his own children. If they could feel, the sentiment would be mutual.
