Biography
HEIMDALL Bodyguard of the Queen |
━━ story ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This gentle guardian is born with very fragile wings. Their skin were so thin and soft that just a few times playing with other hatchlings could break them. That's what happened.. some mirrors played too much with him, and their "love bites" destroyed his wings. After a lot of cry and a lot of scolding, the parents decided to work on something for those wings. They decided to create a patchwork of clothes, to replace the missing skin. Patchwork that will be upgraded and evolving with time, until Heimdall reach his adult size. Heimdall was a young and naive guardian when he arrived in Dróttningbœr. He discovered this wild but powerful organization, treating males like him like they are pawns in the game of Kirk. But when he grew up, he learned that sometimes, life was not always as hard as he used to see. Since he was a kid, he had always wanted to be close to the Queen, to be friends with her. Once he became strong enough and had "grown up" enough in Kirk's opinion, she named him her personal body guard. At first, he was very excited, but things soon got worse. The basic rules of the job of body guard are simple : first, protect your Queen. With your life if necessary. Second, if something happens to the Queen, you must pierce one of your eyes, to show everyone you have failed on your mission. Third, if the Queen decides to you are no longer strong enough to protect her, you will be withdraw from your duty. These rules were basics, and were quickly learned by the guardian. He pledged his allegiance to her, even with all the pressure placed on him. He had become her personnal body guard, and he would not fail. |

He failed so hard that he couldn't even continue his past life like before. When he woke up, he found the body of his beloved Queen on the ground of her room, lying in a pool of her own blood, soaking the fabrics underneath her. He approached her limp body, gently taking it in his hands, and began to cry. He failed so badly, the Queen was killed, and he had been asleep, like a pathetic baby. It was all his fault, he put her life in his hands, and he failed this simple mission. How could he be so pathetic, so shameful? How could he let the Queen get killed like this, by a simple stabbing, behind his back? After taking her lifeless body out of the tent, he brought her to Hrund, the undertaker of Dróttningbœr. He took the warbeast tusk hanging as a trophy on his wall, and stabbed it into both of his eyes. The pain was unbearable but necessary. The last thing he saw was the sharp tip of the tusk, then a bloody red color. Then it was dark, darker than the darkest nights. Darker than his crime. It was an eternal suffering for him, starting from this horrible day. But one day, in one of his daily nightmares about Kirk and how he could have saved her, he saw someone else. A strange coatl, who looked like he was made of an unknow stone mixed with clouds of the Windsinger himself. This strange apparition told him his beloved Queen was back, and that he could protect her again. He woke up suddenly, sweating like a fountain, and thinking about the fact that it was just a dream. The next day, he heard Kirk in the throne room, echoing with the mocking laughter she was known for when she sat atop her throne. - Heimdall, my good Heimdall, you followed the rules a bit too much, as I can see. She smiled, pleased to see him alive, but sad to see his current state. - M-my Queen... Is that really you? Isn't it just a figment of my imagination? - It's me, my good Heimdall. I'm back. If he still had his two eyes, he'd have burst into tears immediately. First because Kirk was back. Then because he was blind for nothing, now, and for the destiny that his life had chosen for him. To continue to protect his Queen, he needed to find a way to see without his eyes. So he chose to pray to the Windsinger for days and nights, for hours and hours. He prayed for weeks, months. And then, one day, one miraculous day, he had an answer. A rune appeared on his forehead, and he started to feel the light. To see the contour of his praying altar, to see the details of his vase, the fine painting in the ceramic. He saw again! Since this day, he will not let anyone approach his Queen. He bet his life on it. |
