Biography

The trees stirred in the cold wind, snow obscuring the scene in the clearing. The massive Guardian's ghostly form lumbered towards the Maned Rasa, claws outstretched. The brown creature nimbly dodged the attack, laughing as it pranced around the three dragons struggling to get a hit. Two autumn figures stood out in the battle, father and son, both desperately trying to defeat the shade-touched Rasa before it could do the same to them. The seasoned Wildclaw warrior lunged until he was out of breath, standing back, red eyes narrowed in fury. "We are still standing!" the warrior screeched, as the young earth Spiral dived for the Rasa, ignoring the wounds along his side from the herd of elk that had fought them earlier. Once more the creature dodged, this time lunging back towards the Spiral, hitting him so forcefully on his head that the lithe dragon fell to the ground. The Wildclaw screeched again and sent a horrid scratch down the side of the enemy in revenge. The Rasa backed away and ran into the cover of the trees and snow, leaving an already faint scarlet trail. The snowfall was growing into a harsh blizzard, large flakes already trying to cover up the Spiral. The Guardian lightly nudged the plague warrior, and with a sigh the raptor-like dragon lifted his fainted son on his back, the great sentry spreading a wing to shelter the two autumn dragons from the storm. Luckily, no other creatures came after them. The trees thinned and the Wildclaw spread his wings, refusing to put the Spiral on the Guardian's back as they flew back towards Dragonhome.
~~
The sun was setting once more as the trio were approaching on Greatwyrm's Breach, one dragon carrying another, the third with a large pack on his back carrying what they had gotten from their battles. "We should've used something to heal him," the Wildclaw muttered as they lowered, approaching on the entrance to their clan.
"There was no time, Sandstone," the Guardian replied, deep growl tinged with sympathy. "Don't worry. Pardofelis is a strong Spiral, he'll be back again after he rests." The two landed on the large ledge jutting out from the entrance to the series of caves where their clan had settled. A young Guardian was keeping watch while they had been gone, an orange-winged Skydancer with her. The maned dragon dipped his head to the warriors, brown eyes glinting with concern when he saw the unconscious Spiral. The Guardian warrior took his place as sentry once more. "He's just tired," the ghostly dragon murmured.

Sandstone crept into the section of the cave he called his own, where his other son was carefully fashioning more arrows for the next time he went hunting. The lightly-colored young Spiral raised his head. "Is... Is he alright, dad?"
The Wildclaw nodded with a sigh. "Got hit on the head rather hard, is all. We brought back some branches for your arrows, also." He placed Pardofelis down, and the Spiral's Hainu happily wagged its tail to see its companion return. "Just give him some space for now. I better report back to Kyan. You go grab those branches."
~~
Pardofelis shifted in his sleep. The sun had already risen and only his brother remained in the lair. The Spiral sleepily lifted and shook his head, yawning. "Good morning, you fighting dolt," the other Spiral teased, tossing a broken arrow at the edge of his brother's bed.
"Shut up, Swith," Pardofelis replied. He opened his eyes, which were suddenly much more pale. "What happened, anyways? Why are you looking at me like that?" The warrior stared back at his brother, whose eyes were wider than normal.
"Maned Rasas are... earth-aligned, right?" Swithin asked shakily.
"Yeah, and?"
"We better go get Ivory and Andal."
