B I O G R A P H Y
The head and queen of her clan, Saichelle keeps order among the dragons she reigns over. She easily believes herself to be the "mother" to all dragons in the clan, whether by blood or not. However, this also means that, while she nurtures her "children" and provides for them, her clanmates must also obey her commands, or face the consequences. Going against her word is certain death, an apology for it warrants complete and immediate exile. Saichelle isn't necessarily a cruel leader, she's just a stubborn one.
A devout follower of the Plaguebringer, she is quick to challenge anyone who dares speak ill of her god and Flight, clan-member or not. Dragons of conflicting Flights and loyalties within the clan have quickly learned this the hard way. She founded the Skullsworn and forged the first Covenant, and while she's generously allowed certain details to be forgotten for the betterment of her clan, she is still the one to uphold the Old Laws whenever she sees fit. It's clear she favors those in the clan who are equally devoted to the contagion and filth of the Scarred Wasteland and its deity.
It is unknown whether the skull of her face is apparel made of a guardian skull or part of her actual face. Regardless, it is horribly unnerving to dragons that were not raised with the Plague, and as a result, Saichelle rarely travels to foreign lairs and instead sends ambassadors to establish alliances for her. The explanations and rumors regarding her face differ from dragon to dragon. Some believe it is a scar, either self-inflicted at the height of a religious tirade in youth, or the result of battle as a former exalted soldier. Some believe it is the skull of a formidable foe, forever worn as a mask out of pride. A few have even said that after a pilgrimage to the Wyrmwound, the Plaguebringer herself gave Saichelle mysterious powers as a gift, but as a result her face was destroyed and mutated into a slight likeness of the goddess. What these unseen powers may be is frequently debated and changes every time the story is told or brought up. Saichelle has not commented on any of this, except to say that she "enjoys the creativity of the clan".
