while born to the arcane flight, Lieja spent her formative years in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, earning her a great respect for water in all of its forms. her boundless curiosity and thirst for adventure led her on many death-defying escapades through the seemingly-endless ocean, and it was only a message from an old lairmate, Noreka, that brought her back to the Starwood Strand. though incredibly dubious, Lieja agreed to tag along with the smaller-than-average skydancer, knowing that her friend was highly likely to get herself killed somehow without anyone watching her back, and, well. the prospect of going where no dragon had gone before was incredibly tempting.

they were a bit wrong on the 'no dragon' bit, though. just hours after breaking atmosphere, a pair of stray meteors sent the small ship careening wildly out of control. their savior came in the form of the pilot of the spaceship now on a collision course with theirs, a standoffish pearlcatcher known as Loirstas who nevertheless took quite a shine to Noreka, even if she might have been the cause of her ship's effective destruction. (they began courting soon after - mostly due to hints dropped by a Lieja who found the romantic tension unbearable.)

the planet the now-trio found themselves stranded on was a far cry from 'perfect' for Lieja, who found it harder to appreciate rivers of lava as much as she did those of water, yet she learned eventually to adjust. nowadays, she's respected as a co-founder of the Rebellion and as a warrior unmatched in physical combat, as well as the primary trainer of new recruits. her mate, Hinoka,
