Blood is thicker than water.
Hematology
Blood Magic Adept
What becomes taboo, ""too dangerous to pursue"", and otherwise barred from the public within other clans finds a second life within the Arcanist's realm, and this is a simple fact that Sornieth's scientific community has operated on for two hundred years. The pursuit of information for the sake of information - this is the call that the Starfall Isles answers.

So Hematology continues to pull the strings on her rag-tag team of orphans, the every whisper of their coronaries a full-blown conversation in her ears. They live on one of the Isles' thousands of unoccupied islands where Hematology's research can proceed with minimal interruption from the outside world. The blood that courses through Hematology's children is her own by extension as she jerks and forces their veins to harden, soften, harden, soften, coaxing their legs into kicking balls or picking up quill-pens to write. In return for their contribution to experimentation, they are given food and shelter and an entire island to explore with post-experiment leisure, much less crowded than that orphanage that Hematology's team swept them from. The process doesn't hurt them, just scares the youngest of the patients every once in a while when they cannot understand why their fingers move across their heads when they have not told them to, or why the soreness in their legs is there when they were not the ones who willingly took the jog around the training fields. Even they grow to enjoy it, though - there is plenty of positive reinforcement available in the form of hugs and fun privileges for complying. What are the long term effects of blood magic, you ask? Most likely not anything terrible...
