Biography

Full Name: Lunari Ros Umbra Infirmatti
Status: Progenitor
Roles: Shaman, Elder Council Co-Leader, Senior Ambassador & Clan Representative
Former Roles: Leader & Co-Leader

Her Beginnings

Within the depths of The Sea of a Thousand Currents, a darkness, blacker than black and darker than dark, materialized and began to writhe with life. As months passed by, this darkness grew and matured into something uncontrollable, driven by its hunger and thirst for life force.

More.
It thought.

I need MORE.

This place was no longer enough. Not to sustain It at the very least.

The surface... I must go up.

Without any hesitation, It gathered itself. Then from the cracks and crevices of the leviathan trench, It rose, taking on the form of Her.
~~~
It was the dead of night when She reached the surface. The night sky was cloudless, with stars sprinkled throughout. Turning Her head, she saw the moon at its fullest. For the first time ever, Her hunger stopped. Her thirst stopped. Her thoughts stopped. She felt content. And She was no longer the Darkness.
"Lunari," She whispered (finally deciding on this after spamming the name randomization), "this is what I will call myself."
The First Life
When Lunari first arrived, she took the form of a mirror dragon, picking the colors black and red to represent herself. She hadn't decided on a good tertiary color yet so she left the slot empty for the time of being. Lunari wandered and survived on her own, unwilling to interact with other dragons. This didn't prevent other dragons from taking interest in her though. A brown fae dragon began to follow Lunari around. He saw her arrival to the surface, and his curiosity got the best of him. At first, he was able to, essentially, stalk Lunari without her noticing at all. Or so he thought.
Lunari always had the feeling that she was being watched. Ever since she arrived, this feeling has only ever gotten stronger. She always kept herself on high alert because of this. One day she saw it. A small flash of brown that quickly disappeared behind a boulder as soon as her head turned. It was fast, but she caught it.
The brown fae realized his mistake too late. He heard her footsteps approach his hiding spot. He let out a sigh and stepped out. Lunari stopped and gazed down at the smaller dragon.
"Fae. Speak. Why follow?"
"I found you interesting. What can I say."
"Fae. Stop follow."
"Hey, I have a name you know. It's Avari. And no I won't stop. I'm still curious about you."
"Averi. Leave now! Stop follow!"
"It's pronounced Ah-vah-ree, not Ah-VER-ree"
Lunari glared at Avari. She couldn't understand this dragon. Curiosity? What a bother. She turned and walked away, not caring about the fae dragon anymore.
Avari stared at her form. He understood her actions as she didn't mind his presence. From that point on, he followed her around in plain sight, but far enough away so as not to anger her. Avari felt somewhat bad for Lunari. Since she wasn't social, she could barely form a complete sentence. He wanted to help her, and he would follow her until she would let him.
~~~

Two months passed and Lunari had come to tolerate Avari's presence up close. He would now sit on her back whenever they traveled and sleep next to one another during the night to preserve body heat. Lunari absolutely refused to accept that she had gotten close Avari, but that is exactly what had happened.
"Hey Lunari, have you ever considered starting a clan?"
"Nope. I feel like that would be too much work. Why do you ask?"
Thanks to Avari's persistence and hard work, Lunari's speech was now near flawless.
"I just feel like you'd be a good leader."
"Hnnnnn..."
~~~
Lunari let out a groan. Five eggs... Five. Eggs. And with Avari of all dragons. She didn’t hate him. Not at all, but she was too embarrassed to admit that she enjoyed his company and had feelings for him. It had been five days since, and of course Avari already knew and was ecstatic. Lunari watched her eggs hatch and called Avari over.
~~~

Lunari created her own clan soon after her children hatched. Sadly, her third born didn't make it and remains unnamed, but the remaining four grew to be healthy adults. Avari often doted on his four children way too much, leading three of them to seek another clan to join. Iota was the only one who stayed.

The clan grew rapidly, but not by Lunari's decision. Avari would constantly take in stray dragons and leave Lunari to deal with the aftermath, much to her frustration. Her general conditions for joining the clan were:
-Do not fight amongst one another.
-The clan and one's clanmates come first (before outsiders)
-Individuals will be held accountable for their own actions.
-Individuals are not to start fights with other clans, but defending oneself is permissible.

As long as these guidelines were met, Lunari accepted all dragons in her clan as her children.

The Sorrows of Flights

The clan was thriving, but Avari could tell something was wrong with Lunari. He thought it might be that the responsibilities of being clan leader was weighing her down. When he offered to take some of these responsibilities, Lunari agreed. But she still wasn't getting any better.

Lunari felt dissonance in her being. She knew she was of the water flight. She was born here. She was even named after the moon, a symbolic soulmate of water.
But her creation. Her breed. She was constantly being drawn to her other origin.

The Scarred Wasteland of the plague flight.

The dilemma echoed throughout her whole being, so much so that Avari had come to notice, even through his lack of emotional perception. She didn't want to trouble him nor the rest of the clan with her selfishness. The scarred wasteland was a dangerous place, and survivability there was much lower than the Tsunami Flats where their lair was located at the time.

One evening, right after the clan had finished their meals,
"Lunari, you can tell us you know? Your troubles. You can tell us and we'll all be happy to listen."
Lunari looked up at Avari. He nodded and everyone else began to voice their agreement. She pauses, thinking about how she should tell them...
~~~
The clan had just finished building their new lair in In the Wandering Contagion and settled in. Avari watched as Lunari excitedly went to explore the area. He was happy for her, but was already feeling unwell. Unlike Lunari, his small frame wasn't designed to withstand the sickening air here, and unlike the rest of the clan, he wasn't able to adapt to living here as well as them. Her happiness is the most important to me. He repeated that over and over again to distract his mind from the pain that was slowly overtaking his body.
~~~

A week had passed since Avari's passing. Lunari had tried desperately to save him, wanting to go back to the water flight territories if that would help him even just slightly. He told her not to worry about him, and should focus more on the clan, now that it was too late. Avari's last wish was that he be exalted to their deity before he left this world. So his soul would have a place to go, and that maybe he would be given another chance. A chance where he can properly stand by Lunari's side once again. Hearing this, Lunari remembered her empty tertiary. She decided on a brown tertiary color to keep Avari's being with her at all times.

The whole clan mourned his death, as he now walked alongside Plaguebringer. Lunari was absolutely heart-broken. She tried moving on. She wanted to forget her sorrows, taking another mate. It just wasn't the same. She had a single child with this male dragon before he and their son left the clan together. Weeks went by, and the clan still struggled to pull itself together.

New Beginnings & The First End

A few months later, the clan was back in full function. This wasn't because everyone was able to move on from Avari's death, it was actually the complete opposite. The clan ended up falling into a heavy slump, and, except for Iota, all the remaining members left. Lunari saw this as an opportunity to start over and learn from her mistakes. Both her and her daughter agreed to keep Avari in their memories and theirs alone.
~~~
Their lair was feeling much livelier again. A majority of the residents were coatls, but Lunari and Iota were overjoyed to have a giant family once again. Around this time, Ithos joined the clan. He was a hard-working and charismatic youngster, so Lunari appointed him to be a co-leader by her side. Their relationship was, of course, NOT romantic in any way, shape, or form. Lunari chose to make him the face of the clan while she fashioned a water flight-focused outfit for herself (as did Iota.) This was to honor Avari and their previous flight. The clan was prospering nicely, new babies were born every week, and some dragons even took to trying to raise their levels in the coliseum. Lunari became good friends with the leader of a neighboring clan, Drakkar. The two clans constantly helped and supported one another, and ended up becoming sister clans.
~~~

Years went by and activity seemed to be slowing. Day by day, less seemed to be happening. Day by day, everything seemed to be getting duller. Lunari no longer saw Drakkar anymore since he never seemed to leave his lair anymore. She felt herself growing weary with each and every passing day. Her clanmates also reflected this. Most dragons seemed lethargic, barely getting by with their daily activities. Ithos told Lunari that something had to be done. The only solution to this that Lunari could think of was to sleep.

Sleep.

Sleep until one day, they all will awaken once again, bursting with energy. And they did just that. The clan sealed themselves in their lair and fell into a deep slumber.

A Purging Revival

Her eyes opened first. She blinked. Once. Twice. Three times. Her muscles shifted for the first time in forty eight years. (This would be two years in real time--I'm using the conversion factor of 1 month = 2 dragon years).

Lunari wondered if the rest of her clan was alright. She felt something stir from behind her. It seemed Ithos and Iota had also just awakened from their hibernation. Together, the three went to unseal the entrance. One by one, the dragons began to shift from the moment the lair was opened once again. Her clan's revival had begun.
~~~
From the moment her eyes opened, Lunari was an elder dragon. She had been alive for around one hundred twenty one years. She felt old. She was old. The clan needed a new leader. Someone young, full of energy and new ideas.
But first...
Many of the dragons that belonged to the clan were still not showing any signs of waking up. They were taking up much needed space that could be given to new dragons that were interested in joining the clan. Therefore, Lunari initiated a purge.
This would be her last command before stepping down and appointing Diwa as the new clan leader.
Lunari now leads and influences her clan as a Shaman. She also serves in the Elder Council and as a Senior Ambassador and Representative of the clan.
Avari's Return
Her 4 years of prayers were heard and answered by Plaguebringer. Lunari watched as Avari's body manifested before her, her mouth agape in disbelief. Avari's eyes flicked open and he blinked twice. He stood up, stretched, and looked around. His eyes met Lunari's and he felt his heart explode.
"I'm back."
News of Avari's return spread through the clan like wildfire. Everyone was excited to meet this legend. He told the clan that Plaguebringer had granted his new body a resistance to disease so he could survive and live here. Within the following week, he took his rightful place beside Lunari as Co-Leader of the Elder Council.
