Sometimes, at the end of their lives, the great Redwoods of the Sunbeam Ruins do something extraordinary. With what remains of their life energy, the trees form eggs to be kept safe and warm within the root structure. As the tree dies, the egg is pushed up between the roots to ‘sprout’ from the soil into a Redwood Warden. These dragons tend to the Redwoods, making sure they thrive. Their innate horticultural knowledge serves them well, but if they come across a tree that cannot be saved using natural means, they are able to revive it with their own specialized magic. This ability undoubtedly stems from their origins. The Wardens do not lay any claim to the forests of the Sunbeam Ruins and seek only to maintain them. More often than not the Wardens choose to roam far and wide through the forests instead of settling in one location. They have an excellent sense of direction, and if you ever find yourself lost in the woods, a Warden can help you find your way. They possess bark-like growths across their bodies, mimicking the texture of the trees they love and protect.
