Technically, it was her mate's business. Very technically. If you squinted and looked at the fine print, her dear Calyx, with his rough demeanor and desert-worn coat, owned Exalt Cannons Incorporated.

It was what they agreed to, after all, when they decided to branch out into frowned-upon business ventures. Calyx kept very far away from the day-to-day business, leaving that all to Morwyn's far more capable claws. If Stormcatcher found out about the forgeries, the smuggling, or, gods forbid, what precisely went on in the R&D department, Calyx had enough plausible deniability to keep the company in the family.

Not that that was much of a concern for Morwyn, not at the moment. Agent Danica was easy enough to steer away, keeping her on the floor where Exalt Cannons Incorporated actually did produce exalt cannons as a front. No, her concern was the little upstart Mastermind trying to undermine Morwyn's authority and pull a corporate takeover. As if Morwyn would allow that, with her years of experience and iron rule.
