Biography
|
C E L E S T E
Princess | Beauty | Snooty | Paranoid Her eyes flash cold as she slips gracefully down the keeps hallways, followed close behind by a knight in dark armour and shimmering silks. Celeste is usually quiet, wary of your unknown presence, and cautious of everything. She’s quite used to the spying eyes of assassins, and worries of them even in the peaceful Runelight Hallow. At any time, they may catch wind that Celeste, Second Princess of an Icedom in the Southern Icefields, was living in the Light Flight. Maybe they were here to kill her. She had no idea what her life might hold from moment to moment. Paranoid as she might be, Celeste refuses to live in squalor. Her chambers, high within the magical Runelight Keep, is decadently dressed in purple and white silks, much like her own body. Just next door she knows her Knight, Blaisdell, lives in his quaint dwellings as well, and she is content. She spends her days having tea, eating desserts and playing chess with Blaisdell and her closest confidants. ART

She was the lost princess of a forgotten kingdom. Which one exactly, and the reliability of that entire statement, were up for debate. But to the dragons of RuneLight Hallow, that was a mystery that they’d given up on solving. The moment she’d arrived at the Sanctum, Celeste made it clear that she was a diamond in a diadem. She seemed unaware that she was in exile, maintaining a tall, overbearing strut and a high head at all times. More interestingly was her wealth: Despite appearing literally out of nowhere, this Coatl was loaded. She carried pouches of gold in her dress, tucked into her scarf, and even threaded through her scales on a flashy display of wealth.
It’s not enough for her to literally glow in the hallways. Celeste wants everyone to know how much better she is. Every opportunity she can, she’ll interrupt conversations with her (usually unwarranted) opinion.
Clan talking about food? “Oh, what is this gruel? Only the finest caviar will do for me.”
Going out on a hunt? “Send your servants to do it.”
Training exercise? “You go ahead, thank you very much. I shall supervise from this ledge here.”
But she’s not just talk and hot air. Celeste often follows up on her own suggestions, placing orders with the Auction House to ship the finest silks, the rarest delicacies, and purebred familiars for her ‘subjects’. This is usually after hearing someone’s wish for said item. Generosity? Perhaps. So why does she hover around the recipient, constantly reminding them of her ‘heart of gold’?
“Do you like it? You like it, don’t you? It’s exactly what you wanted. I care about my subjects, of course. As is expected.”
Unsurprisingly, most dragons don’t talk about their wishlists in public any more.
Perhaps the only one to still willingly talk to her is Blaisdell, her assigned personal guard.
