Rouge and her familiar Ruby used to be the only stars of the ceremonies held every full moon. Rouge was known as the midnight queen, her starry wings and golden silks a mesmerizing blend of night and day that captivated every dragon's attention. Ruby's twisting and spiralling movements were perfectly in sync with her dragon companion, earning her the title of the siren of the stars. Following Nagamo's voice the trio of performers would create a truly stunning show every month, weaving their talents together to draw in even local beastclans to enjoy.
She had never dreamed of another joining them until Augury arrived. The deaf skydancer was a dancer unlike any she had ever seen - moving to the ebb and flow of her own beat, striking a path that was new and enticing, a different flavour of dance to her own. When they began to practice together she never would have imagined how well they could move in tandem, the trio finding new patterns of dance that not only melded together beautifully but helped enhance their own skills. _____ Though she had been initially apprehensive about the arrival of a potential rival, Rouge was more than glad to embrace her new partner once they got to know each other. Another skydancer named Faraus also joined the clan at the same time and occasionally he joins them to dance, but for the most part he plays the lute to accompany Nagamo's voice. He spends a bit too much time around them for her liking, though she gets the feeling it's thankfully not her he's after. She's far too invested with her beloved Moth (and possible her rival in love, Navelle) to care about anyone else. _____ Aside from dancing, Rouge enjoys singing occasionally as well as looking for gemstones in the mineral-rich caves on the cliffs of the territory. She was found as an egg by Solstice but she's never had the urge to wander anywhere else- everything she loves is right here. Every day she goes down to the beach to see if Moth is there since the delicate dragon enjoys the spray of the waves. She often finds her with Navelle and so the two of them spend the afternoon vying for the attention of the pale blue dragon until she inevitably flutters off to go clean the dens or spend time in the forest with its mysterious denizens. Rouge doesn't dislike Navelle and wouldn't mind wooing her too if she wasn't so fiery towards her most of the time. Even so, the two of them typically spend a few minutes together thinking over what they could do next to win moth's affection in strange but amicable silence. Lately they've begun talking a bit and Rouge has found herself looking forward to it, eager to boast about her plans for the next ceremony and hear what the semi-aquatic dragon has planned for the next peace meeting with the maren. Perhaps peace between the trio isn't as far off as it once seemed. |
