Dragon Log

A wanderer on Search from elsewhere in Arcane who moved in. He chose a name, after much thought, that reflects both a time of day, and his sharp scales. Currently, he is modeling his favorite skin in the hope of getting a certain Light Dragon's attention...so far, it isn't working. Ah, well, that lovely Aqua Pearlcatcher looks interesting....

9-11-14: He is still modeling the Skin "Light's Consort," but he is beginning to think he needs to try something else... though Eveningrose does seem to be a little more appreciative.... perhaps if he finds her her next familiar?
Speaking of familiars, his Storm Seeker has finally awakened, and Nightsedge could not be more pleased. They will probably stay together for a few days, as the Seeker is still young, and does not want to wander far from home. Soon, however, he will venture out, and Nightsedge will need to find another friend....

10-13-14: After some time, the Storm Seeker has decided to stretch his wings for a bit--perhaps because he wishes to eliminate the temptation of eating Nightedge's new friend, the Mimic Butternsake....

11-24-14: Night has headed off to the Rockbreaker's Ceremony Festival Grounds, looking for something interesting he can offer to Eveningrose… ( ) … And he has managed to find something of merit after all! ( , ) Now all he has to do is prepare his gift...

11-27-14: After his success Digging, Night decided to try his luck with another element entirely, and headed to the Bobbing Stall... ( )

…and ended up with no less than SIX Greyback Sparrows! ( , ) Oh dear....Well, hopefully Rose is hungry...

11-28-14: After a highly successful week at the Rockbreaker's Ceremony, Nightsedge offered Eveningrose a stunning gift: a beautiful necklace of pinkish-red jasper, carved to look like a rose and pulsing with a combination of Arcane and Light magic. Though it does not show on her pictures, Rose is now wearing Night's gift... and her heart may just be warming to him as well....

1-10-15: The Mimic Buttersnake has finally grown big enough to protect himself from the Storm Seeker. In fact, he has Awakened! Night is relieved that he longer has to worry for his friend's safety in the lair... and perhaps now the Storm Seeker will come home....

2-20-15: Night's attempts to catch Rose's eye with his skin and his carvings have had an interesting side effect: The Golden Porpoise that Neptunia had hoped would bond with her has become attracted to the "golden dragon" instead....

5-21-15: Flipper, the Golden Porpoise, has Awakened! Nightsedge is happy for his friend... though he does wish that the odd dolphin would stop splashing him with his tail. Perhaps Neptunia can settle him down?

2-14-17: Nightsedge has found another way to express his love for Eveningrose! Now all he has to do is herd the Swan over to her... and hope she likes him....

7-10-18: Nightsedge is over the moon with happiness: His wooing has finally paid off! Eveningrose has been hanging around him, as a friend, for some time, and now she has finally offered to be his mate. It seems that her trip to the back of the caves to have a chat with Nebula bore some very odd fruit....or would that be an odd potion? Either way, Rose has agreed to a single mating attempt...and maybe more, if they turn out to be compatible. She has made only one request: that he present himself to their hatchlings in his natural colors, rather than the gold skin spell he has worn for so long. Night cast the spell to remove the gold color instantly, and now he is anxiously watching his 4 eggs, and waiting to see if his hopes for a permanent pairing with the gorgeous Rose will be realized...

7-15-18: Four healthy hatchlings have been born, each vastly different. All four chose their names almost at once, and Night could not be more pleased by their choices. Clearly, these 3 sisters and 1 brother are extremely close, and yet value their own independence as well. Nightsedge cannot wait to see how they develop as they grow....

...And one hatchling in particular has caught Night's immediate interest: When Samhain, the oldest of the four, locked eyes with Nightsedge for the first time, something inside the older male Guardian suddenly snapped into place. He has found his Charge at last, in his own beautiful daughter! And what a daughter she is, with magic practically radiating from her, and a fascination with all sorts of contradictory powers and gifts. It is obvious that she will need a lot of guidance if she is to reach her full potential without losing herself along the way...

…Night's fascination with his discovered Charge has not in any way taken away from his love for his other children, or for their mother, however. In fact, he is currently wondering just what he did recently to make the Arcanist adore him so much, as Eveningrose as just asked him if she can become his permanent mate! It seems that she has discovered feelings for him after all. Night is thrilled with his incredible good fortune--so much so that he did not even argue when Rose announced that Nebula, the Dark Mage, will be bridesmaid....and Godmother to all four of their firstborn children. Though he IS concerned about the Dark Mage's influence on Samhain. He will have to watch that very carefully indeed...

2-14-19: Night is not sure what to do. While he has been focusing on Samhain, Beltane has clearly found a way to manipulate his problematic talent any way he wishes, and used it to cause Samhain to mate with a certain Pearlcatcher that she had not, up to then, had any feelings for other than friendship. On the one hand, Nightsedge is furious at his son. On the other hand, Samhain just presented him with his first 3 grandsons, and the proud Grandfather can’t deny that they wouldn’t have existed without that union….
