IMPRESSIONS.


PAST.
If you had told Tyche half a life ago that she would soon become one of the best Realmwalkers the Corps had ever seen, she would have asked two things. The first: 'What the f*ck are Realmwalkers' and the second: 'Also, what the f*ck are you talking about'.

Tyche was discovered by talent scouts years ago, when she was banishing a particularly dangerous wraith terrorising a village in the Tangled Wood. The scouts were impressed by how well she'd handled herself and had offered her the chance of a lifetime: join the Realmwalker Corps, a group of dragons dedicated to containing spiritual threats in Sorineth while patrolling the Realms for threats.

It was a considerable offer and an opportunity of a lifetime. The Realmwalkers rarely made themselves known to the general public.

Tyche had to fight to keep a straight face as she turned them down.

A year after that, she encountered the corps once more when tracking down a banshee. And once more when hunting another wraith. And again when dealing with a poltergeist. After that, she accepted, more out of curiosity than anything else.

The training was gruelling but it was nothing she couldn't handle; though up to this point, Tyche was skeptical and it wouldn't have taken much to get her to quit. That is, till she met Thanatos, who came from 'old money'-- families that had been in Realmwalker ranks for generations-- and was forced to partner with him. He was talented, she admitted grudgingly, but he was stuffy and insufferable.

As a newcomer, Tyche wasn't afraid to question orders, customers and traditions. This horrified Thanatos, who'd always been used to accepting and executing orders without question.

The two hated each other.

Then, an incident occurred that almost killed Thanatos. It sobered Tyche up; for years she had rolled solo, but now that she had a partner to care for, she could not afford to be so careless. More importantly, the two became closer and found out that they had much more in common than they expected. She'd known about Thanatos' eagerness to prove himself, but she had refused to acknowledge the side of her that had really, truly come to care about the Realmwalker Corps.

Now, though she's still unafraid to doubt direct orders and is still fiercely independent, age and experience has mellowed her. Together with Thanatos, her friend and mate, she's come to approach her duties with care and caution. Protecting dragons from malevolent spirits isn't an easy task, after all.

Which is why she insists on remaining vigilant when the two are assigned to the Clan of Rattling Bone.

There are things lurking in the shadows here. Until she finds and banishes them, Tyche will keep her guard up.

Ananke: Drinking buddy. Always happy to see her, especially after a long and grueling mission.
