One day... one day I’ll get all the sprites and Y1 apparel... some day...
"Every one thousand years when the stars allign just right, a dragon so powerful in their abilities of magic is born. Strong and agile both physically and mentally, when trained properly these dragons can become unstoppable with their powers. If used for evil against the betterment of Dragon-Kind, even one of these dragons alone can wreak havoc on the dragons and their home. They can change their forms and appearance, some even becoming creatures this world has not yet seen or turn into our gods, to disguise themselves. They are unstoppable creatures with a thirst for blood and destruction."

Legend says, that if two of these dragons were to be born on the same night, they would be drawn together by instinct and by fate to grow their race. Their offspring would never be able to achieve the same power as the Natural-Born, however, would exceed that of an ordinary Lyren, Combined as a race, however, with strong, pure-blooded Lyrens they could overpower the Flights of Sornieth."

Lyren blood will always run true, so these dragons will be powerful still. However, their ability to shapeshift might be weakened.
However, it seems that that day has yet to come, as all remains at peace in Sornieth and there is no rumor of such beings existing.”

All the old texts and all the old scrolls all say the same; the Lyren race was wiped out from Sornieth after they attempted to kill the deities and all those who weren't of Lyren blood. Yet, Clan Meridon and its leader, Clya, are living proof that this is not true.

Meridon is a sanctuary for all Lyren, dragons who can take on the form, appearance and powers of any dragon species. Meridon was once filled with families of Lyren dragons ruled by that era's "True Lyren". Every 1,000 years a True Lyren would be born from a motherless egg. Therefore, it was impossible to have two True Lyren living at the same time.

However, when Clya unknowingly met a dying True Lyren, Clya allowed the Lyren's final, dying breath enter her spirit. Due to this, Clya was now considered a True Lyren and perhaps one of the strongest in history. So naturally, the strongest in history is also the most hunted. She built up Meridon from the destroyed remnants that it once was, with the help of that century's True Lyren, Kozane. Together, they had broken the cycle, two True Lyren existed at the same time, and while they did not know it, another True Lyren would never be born again.

Surely, it wasn't their intention, but all the same, it was their fault. Not knowing this, Clya still sought to track down all dragons with any Lyren blood and asked them to join her in Meridon. Slowly, Meridon began to flourish. The once destroyed city began to grow as dragons branched to living outside of the mountain. Still, it is hard to build a city on the ashes of one's fallen kind, especially when others make it their mission to stop it.

Traitors and spies, all with Lyren blood or found some workaround to the wards, snuck into the rebuilding city all with one goal- to kill Clya, Kozane, and the other Lyren. Raila, trapped in her prison, swore vengeance on those who trapped her there. Darke sought revenge on the kind that tricked his father and tainted his own blood. Enazok, created in a freak accident, sought to kill his counterpart, Kozane. And Zaluk, the worse of them all perhaps, utilized his Lyren blood to trick Clya and kill Kozane, to take her as his own.

Fearing for their powerful children, Clya and Kozane sent all their offspring away in an attempt to protect them. Not all met a fortunate fate. Acokyalenz's pearl was shattered when an attempt was made on her life while Avalon runs for his life. While many were sent away in service of the Arcanist, the only god who did not agree with the mindless slaughter of the Lyren, there was also an unfortunate amount who were killed by assasins or by Darke himself.
