Digging is okay if you're looking for a specific material, but generally scavenging is a lot better because the drops are more valuable and easier to sell. Not to mention you can find eggs!
Congratulations on reaching level 30 scavenging. I've been on this site a long time and its proven to be a very viable source of income!
