Clan Information:
In select areas around the Tangled Wood, where clans seem to be very small and far between, there can be found settlements of a clan built upon runaways. The 4 original founders, a stoic, religious ice-origin imperial, a silver-tongued, headstrong coatl from the lightning flight, a lean young skydancer from the boneyards of the plague flight, and a wise clairvoyant coatl from deep within the natural coatl layers of the fire flight, all were brought together through exile or escape from their original flights and ending up finding eachother in the Wispwillow Grove and staying in a, then, small hut of a lair of their own creation. Together, this ragtag group of dragons sought to expand their den and take in any wanderers that needed a home, just as they, themselves, once were. Soon, as the group of founders took in runaways and wandering souls amongst the indigo pines of the Tangled Wood, their clan grew into a mighty settlement in the forest of glowing fungi and deep purple and blue evergreens. As the clan got larger and larger, they decided to branch off into multiple lairs distributed amongst the main regions of the land.

shadow_1.png The main settlement amongst the fungi of the Wispwillow Grove is the largest of the settlements, and where most of the dragons in the clan live and work. The Wispwillow village, as it’s called amongst the clan, is a hub for trade and communication with other clans. Stone pathways connect nests and homes of various dragons, lanterns filled with bumbling faeries illuminating the pathways and cabins. A large marketplace sits in the middle of the village, filled with traders and merchants selling foods and wares they’ve collected for small sacks of gold-plated coins known as treasure. It’s a harmonious little village, where hatchlings are safe to wander around and explore at their leisure without worry of beastclan attacking. Esmee, the clans very first founder, resides in the Wispwillow village as well, smooth talking traders sent from other clans into lower prices and teaching young hatchlings how to persuade others effectively, sometimes to the discontent of their parents.

shadow_0.png Within the mire of the Driftwood Drag, the second settlement was created. The moss covered logs and swampy ground of the Driftwood Drag was found to be a perfect place for practicing magick and potion making, as the silty delta held a strong mystical aura, and grew many ingredients needed for rituals and potions. The settlement in the Driftwood Drag came to be known as the Driftwood Coven, despite there being more variance than just witches in the small village. Many of the cottages in the Driftwood Coven are on stilts stuck deep into the soil of the marshy ground, to avoid any mudslides destroying all their work and homes. Many of the dragons in this settlement are highly dedicated to their work channeling the magic of Shadowbinder that’s rich in the area, and therefore don’t go out of their own territory very often, not finding the need to. The only magically inclined of the founders, the clairvoyant Iolai, resides in the Driftwood Coven, and many dragons, even other magick users, come to her for her wisdom and advice frequently.

shadow_2.png Another of the settlements, built in a small clearing within the tangled, thorned branches of the Foxfire Bramble, is an artisan town known as the Foxfire Forge. True to it’s name, in the centre of the town is a large blacksmith forge created by Wayland himself. The village is protected on all sides by the walls of thorny bramble that’s unable to be seen through, with only one small, dragon protected pathway in and out, which deters all outside beastclan from attempting to raid the village. The Foxfire Forge is home to many artisan dragons of the clan, of all different types. Many breadmakers, blacksmiths, fabric weavers and parchment makers gather in the protected village, appreciating the safety and protection of their products that the bramble enclosure provides. The founder that resides in this settlement, Wayland, is a skilled blacksmith and will frequently oversee blacksmithing work going on in the forge, and give suggestions on things to improve. None of the dragons that made their homes in the Foxfire Forge have thought Wayland was strict about their work, however.

shadow_3.png The settlement smallest of the clan villages is a small, mostly religious gathering of dragons that have made their home on the outskirts of the Forum of the Obscured Crescent. The Forum is where many offerings to Shadowbinder are made, and therefore the dragons of the clan that most closely follow the looming god of the land reside around it. Many dragons who hatch nests with the expressed intent that their children will serve Shadowbinder live in this settlement, known as the Forum Altar of Shadowbinder, or just the Forum Altar for short. Once every full moon, many dragons even from other villages will come to the Forum to partake in the large, eventful tribute to Shadowbinder, where exaltations are made. Only few in the clan choose to not attend the event. The founder that resides in this settlement, Malik, is the one who offers dragons to Shadowbinder through exalting, and is the one to train them to prove they’re worthy to the god.
