Kings and Queens

I have dedicated my lair to collecting dragons I deem beautiful, cute, or interesting. I call them Kings and Queens because I associate beauty with royalty. I also like to make lore about kingdoms and families.

Kings - Male dragons with offspring within the lair.
Queens - Female dragons with offspring within the lair.
Princes - Male dragons with no offspring within the lair.
Princesses - Female dragons with no offspring within the lair.

Born of Shadows
A midnight fae emerges from the shadows. His black wings unfurled underneath the eternal moonlight. He opened his purple eyes and easily adjusted to the darkness around him. He was not alone.

A coral tundra stood before him and smiled down at the small creature. Having just been born of shadow herself, she extended a clawed paw to him. He looked at it before up at her. He rested his own tiny claws against the pad of one of hers. In that moment, they silently agreed that they were going to be clan mates.

Taken to naming the tundra "Flufi" for her very furry appearance, she in turn called him "Mir" for his cute little chirps that he would make when something interested him. He sat on her head as they explored the Tangled Wood, looking for a place to settle.

Mir was the one to spot it first. His fins perked up as he stood up from his lax position. He patted Flufi's forehead and pointed to a spot in front of them. She understood and trotted to the area he had pointed to.
A Taxing Expanse
The first few days were a bit taxing on the female tundra. Yes, she was larger than the small fae, but he was certainly using that to his advantage.

When the lair in the Driftwood Drag was laid out how Mir wanted it, he was proud of her work. He stood proud on the center log and looked around his empty lair. He knew that it was time to add some more dragons to the new lair.

Within a few months time, Mir and Flufi were no longer just Mir and Flufi. They had brought in dragons from many territories and bared many hatchlings for the clan.

A Blossoming Alliance
One clan in particular happily formed an alliance with the calm and well-mannered Fae from the Tangled Wood. Reunimelle Clan of the Viridian Labyrinth.

Lexa, a large imperial, was travelling through the area and stumbled upon his lesser lair. Mir happily traded goods with her for treasure and other supplies before seeing her off. Soon unwanted hatchlings were offered, introducing their elements into each other's lair.

With her help he was easily becoming a leader of a bustling lair of several different dragons. Mir was always happy to accept more, but he was running out of space. With the agreement of his elders, he made the decision to move.

A Dance With Death
Mir, moved them to an area where they could be well protected and be able to thrive and prosper, Foxfire Bramble. Mir was weary of being on the border of the Scarred Wasteland. He had heard rumours, and seen the destructive call of Plaguebringer from the Plague dragons in his own clan, but he liked the change in scenery. He was not the only one to have his worries.

Blinx grew ever nervous in the lair, a trait most uncommon of the divine veilspun. Mir took note of this, but he knew he couldn't get an answer from her. She had the burning passion of Flamecaller raging through her. Was she worried her flame would be snuffed out by plague? Mir desperately wanted to know, but he kept his distance and watched her behaviour.

Despite the veilspun's unease, not many shared in her fear of the Scarred Wasteland. Perionzka was one of them. He longed to be back in the decay and destruction of plague, but he was happy to at least be able to watch it from afar. He took many hunting trips to the border's edge, feeding off the land that once housed him.

The once followed was now becoming the follower. Venturing behind the large imperial on his trips to the edge. He was curious to know more about his neighbour.

Perionzka laid in the brambles of shadow and let Mir know that he knew he was there. Mir made himself known and sat on the head of the imperial. Perionzka happily started telling Mir everything he wanted to know about the Scarred Wasteland and the Deity that ruled over it. Telling him of the war between her and her sister and disaster that ended the peace between them.

Mir wanted to know more about Plaguebringer. Perionzka answered his questions. He told him of her destructive ways and the need to feed on decay. The sight of blossoming flowers was sickening to the deity and the clear air full of oxygen was not what she liked.

He then went on about how much he loved living there. The things he learned and the friends that later betrayed him. He one day hopes to return and ask for forgiveness, but he likes where he is now and doesn't want to leave his current lair.

Mir, now equipped with more knowledge of the Scarred Wasteland, wondered what Shadowbinder thought about their neighbour. He looked up at Perionzka and saw his want to return reflected in his dark magenta eyes, but he was iffy about their destructive ways. But curiosity would plague his mind.

Gathering some insects near the diseased plane caused Mir to give chase to an insect into the wasteland. He was more focused on capturing this little bug than where he was going. A dangerous idea.

The chase ended when Mir finally caught up to the small insect and was able to capture it. He looked down at his prey with his fins spread up and wide in pride of his victory. Then then flattened when his purple eyes looked up. In front of him was a massive boil, just ready to burst. He realized he had been lead to the diseased territory.

He looked around at his surroundings. He noticed that looming over him was a large diseased trunk. He swallowed nervously. So much disease in one area was beginning to overwhelm the fae, not used to such a sight before. He decided to get out of there, but fate had other plans.

As the fae spread his wings to fly, the boil couldn't take much more pus. It burst in front of the fae and caused the small dragon to recoil. His world was dark, and his lungs immediately filled with unclean air. He cough and spat as he rubbed at his face. His breathing ragged and wheezy as he continued to cough.

Regaining his sense of sight, he snatched up his prey and flew away as fast as his little wings would take him.

He rushed back to his lair in the brambles and told no one of his encounter with disease. Looking back now, he should have.
Infected Shadows
It did not take long for the other members of his clan to notice that their leader was ill. His appearance gave it away, and his silence was deafening. Perionzka was the first to break it, knowing what must've happened.

"You are unclean..." his deep voice said in a hushed tone. Mir looked up at the sad looking imperial and nodded slowly.
"Should you survive this... you will be considered a child of plague..." he informed him.
"But should you perish... then you were not considered worthy of her time..." he said coldly. Mir was a bit scared. He was not the only one to hear Perionza's words. Diavolsias nodded, having been born as a child of Plaguebringer. Mir's small heart was pounding. Did that mean he would serve Plaguebringer instead of Shadowbinder? He didn't know if he liked that, but he certainly didn't like the idea of perishing.

Hours became days. Days became weeks. The fae was still kicking and alive, but his demeanour was completely different. The sickness was taking hold of his mind, and he was beginning to feel the power that disease held. He wanted more of it.

He took Perionzka to the outskirts of the Tangled Wood and gestured to the Scarred Wasteland in front of him.
"Would you like to return?" Mir asked as he looked up at the imperial. He nodded solemnly.
"Then we shall move there." Mir said as he looked from the imperial to the wastes. Perionzka smiled a little. He wouldn't need their forgiveness. He was following orders from his clan leader.

Mir brought news of their move back to the clan, and he was met with mixed reactions. Blinx stared at the fae, saddened by the news. Others were excited to be moving again. Others didn't like the idea of living with disease.

When the last egg of Shadow hatched, they departed for Plague and have been happy ever since.

An Enchanting Alliance
Now a closer neighbour to the Starfall Isles, he had some new dragons to obtain. Wanting an alliance with at least one clan, he ventured rather far into the territory of magic, with Perionzka's help and guidance, flying over the mystical territory.

Mir admired the sights of astrology and magic and wanted to get closer to the Crystalspine Reaches. Perionzka happily flew him over there, but they would soon run into a defensive Fae. The imperial was inclined to ignore her, but Mir signaled for him to stop.

Speaking fae to fae, she informed Mir that they were getting rather close to her lair, and she did not appreciate their encroaching presence. She had hatchlings and wanted nothing to happen to them. Mir could understand this and explained that he was just looking around the area out of interest. She was still insistent that they leave, and Mir wasn't about to tango with an angry fae.

He instructed Perionzka to turn back, leaving the fae alone. He watched the small beautiful fae with interest for a moment before turning his attention forward. He was already plotting to have her as his ally.

Travelling alone this time, peace offering in hand, without the intimidating presence of the imperial, he went searching for the small Arcane fae. Spotting her in the Crystalspire Reaches again, he smiled and flew closer to her.

He introduced himself as Mir of Festesta, and she introduced herself as Witherose of Starrift.

He offered her the pink rose, explaining that it reminded him of her and her element. She accepted it, and the two would grow more accustomed to each other as the days went on.

A Flowering Strain
When he spotted Lexa again, travelling through the Scarred Wasteland, he quickly flew over to her, happy to see the large imperial again. But she as not happy to see him in the state he was in.

His fins drooped as he reazlied there was a great tension between his new home and the one Lexa came from. She explained that she was unsure if their alliance could stand, seeing as it would mean she had a claw in Plague. Mir told her that he understood if she was no longer an alliance to him as he pouted and looked away from her.

Lexa couldn't part ways with the kind fae. He appeared to not have changed too much, and she couldn't say no to that adorable little face pouting at her. She sighed through her nose and decided their alliance could stay.

The small fae was overjoyed and hugged the large snout of the dragon, nuzzling into it. Lexa still had her doubts, but she liked Mir and his lair.

While he had her, Mir explained to her of a new clan he had an alliance with and informed her of its whereabouts. He also informed her of the leader's defensiveness, but so long as she said that Mir sent her, she was going to be just fine.

Their alliance still stands, and we wonders if other plague clans have a similar alliance with a nature one.
