In development, it is not uncommon for a feature or change to work quite well in the test environment and then break or introduce a new bug in the live environment, much like what happened with the offspring list and some of those early bumps in the road during our registration window. [br]
Mass-naming Exalts: It is not against our naming policy to give dragons similar names if they are being exalted. If the name does not break our rules, is not harassment towards a player, and does not imply that hundreds of dragons were slaughtered en masse, it's fine.
[br][br]
World Questions [br]

The Beastclans have their own languages, their own words for the world of Sornieth, but some have learned to speak Draconic from regional dragon clans. [br]
The size of Sornieth is larger than Earth (roughly one and a half times the radius). It has slightly less gravity. Whether that's due to its mass and the make-up of its core or the influence of magical fields is still a matter of draconic debate![br]
It is perfectly fine if your clan of dragons does not match up with the lore articles. The Encyclopedia gives the general behaviors and culture that most members of the species will exhibit, but not every dragon is going to fit perfectly into a mold! [br]
The dragon species were created by the gods to defend their territory and fight against the Shade. Many were created hoping that the ideals of the diety would be instilled in the behavior of the species. Windsinger felt the creation of spirals was a job well done. However, most deities have a benevolent, if somewhat distant affection for their progeny. [br]
The breed and gene change scrolls can be considered an abstraction, though the gods reshaping dragons is not uncommon. Most progenitors are likely to have parents, though gameplay does not express this, as that is how we introduce new bloodlines into the game and provide players with the opportunity to design their own unrelated dragons. Parentless eggs are considered orphaned, but may be adopted by a clan.[br]
So, dragon size? How does it work? Why are they all listed as different sizes but everything looks the same? For you, as the user accessing the site through your internet browser, your dragons, eggs, and nests all visually appear to be similar sizes for ease of use and consistency. As for their actualsize, there's a bit of imagination/magic involved to sell that. Eggs would likely be a size that makes sense for the dragon who is producing it, and grow to accommodate the dimensions of the hatchling inside.[br]
How can Pearlcatchers walk holding onto that big pearl? A successful Pearlcatcher is one who has a well developed sense of balance but other Pearlcatchers who aren't so nimble on their feet have found other ways to move while keeping their pearl safe and in their possession: satchels, bags, coiled up in their tail!

[br][br] --------- [br][br] Preview: Facet Secondary Gene We're working on preparing the next gene release: Facet. Q/A Sticky Recap:
  • Mechanics/Optimizations

    • On new programming: Sometimes we push a change to the site just to have it break or otherwise have a negative impact - much like the 'Hide Offspring' feature that existed for a short period of time before we had to turn it off. In development, it is not uncommon for a feature or change to work quite well in the test environment and then break or introduce a new bug in the live environment, much like what happened with the offspring list and some of those early bumps in the road during our registration window. While it is inconvienent and frustrating, these incidents provide valuable information for our developers to improve and fix what went wrong.

    • The Beastclans and Dominance - Dominance organizers. Beastclans are a random and normalized AI. What this means for you is that the Beastclans operate like a non-coordinated Dominance push. You have to beat them like you would any other Flight.

    • On browser extensions/add-ons: We understand that players like to spice things up in their browsers and enhance their browsing experience, and will always do our best to consider that. It's not a matter of stifling creativity, it's a matter of protecting the site's integrity. The best course of action is always going to be to hit us up directly via the Contact Us page so that we can evaluate/review the request before posting the addon to the forums.

    • Battle Weariness in the overhauled Dominance system:Second and third place Flights do not suffer from Battle Weariness and are able to fight for Dominance at full force.

    • Mass-naming Exalts: It is not against our naming policy to give dragons similar names if they are being exalted. If the name does not break our rules, is not harassment towards a player, and does not imply that hundreds of dragons were slaughtered en masse, it's fine.

  • World Questions

    • The Beastclans have their own languages, their own words for the world of Sornieth, but some have learned to speak Draconic from regional dragon clans.

    • The size of Sornieth is larger than Earth (roughly one and a half times the radius). It has slightly less gravity. Whether that's due to its mass and the make-up of its core or the influence of magical fields is still a matter of draconic debate!

    • It is perfectly fine if your clan of dragons does not match up with the lore articles. The Encyclopedia gives the general behaviors and culture that most members of the species will exhibit, but not every dragon is going to fit perfectly into a mold!

    • The dragon species were created by the gods to defend their territory and fight against the Shade. Many were created hoping that the ideals of the diety would be instilled in the behavior of the species. Windsinger felt the creation of spirals was a job well done. However, most deities have a benevolent, if somewhat distant affection for their progeny.

    • The breed and gene change scrolls can be considered an abstraction, though the gods reshaping dragons is not uncommon. Most progenitors are likely to have parents, though gameplay does not express this, as that is how we introduce new bloodlines into the game and provide players with the opportunity to design their own unrelated dragons. Parentless eggs are considered orphaned, but may be adopted by a clan.

    • So, dragon size? How does it work? Why are they all listed as different sizes but everything looks the same? For you, as the user accessing the site through your internet browser, your dragons, eggs, and nests all visually appear to be similar sizes for ease of use and consistency. As for their actualsize, there's a bit of imagination/magic involved to sell that. Eggs would likely be a size that makes sense for the dragon who is producing it, and grow to accommodate the dimensions of the hatchling inside.

    • How can Pearlcatchers walk holding onto that big pearl? A successful Pearlcatcher is one who has a well developed sense of balance but other Pearlcatchers who aren't so nimble on their feet have found other ways to move while keeping their pearl safe and in their possession: satchels, bags, coiled up in their tail!
