[/columns] [columns] The night wind blew in fits across the reeds, filling Sangia’s small lair with gentle but dissonant music. Her frills on her head and wings swayed with the intermittent breeze, brushing across the two eggs held in her grasp. She adjusted her grip on them with awkward, uncertain care, and a flicker of worry crossed her eyes. Behind her, Pasteil shifted, bringing his head around to nuzzle her reassuringly. Sangia allowed herself a tense breath. “What if we aren’t good parents?” She asks, turning to look into his eyes. Pasteil simply nuzzled her again, giving her a reassuring smile even as his eyes flickered down to the eggs. “We will be” He said, putting enough conviction into his words to hopefully convince himself. Sangia was silent for a moment. She leaned further into him, allowing herself a tiny, hopeful smile. They stared into the night sky together. Near the Pillar of the World. My parents put me in the auction house before I had even opened my eyes. Before I had even seen or heard or smelled my parents. I was in there for days. But then human came. She was looking for a dragon from Earth, a dragon to represent Earth. She stopped at each stall, only to walk buy, shaking her head. When she finally got to me, I noticed she looked at me much longer than the others. She moved on. But a couple minutes she came back, a smile on her face. She told me that she chose me. I didn't quite understand her, but I recognized a warmth and happiness, and immediately wanted to be the dragon she saw me as. She pulled out a bag, and carefully counted out eight golden coins, then she placed them in a slot near the entry. The gate creaked open. I cautiously walked forwards, and she gently hugged me.
