Your search through the forest brings you deep within it. The air around is thick and humid, but sweet nonetheless.
"Beware" - the forest whispers.
"When moon is high, light dances through the night."
With the moonlight as a beacon between leaves, you suddenly find yourself surrounded. The glowing bugs dance before you, like stars on the land. Before you notice the air is cut! A gust of air with a whistle passes before you, and the large bat poses in a tree - a sight to behold. The glowbugs shine as green as the creature does, and when it's eyes meet yours you feel dazed and euphoric. It's only when morning comes one notices they've been glamoured by the lights of the forest.

When the rain it's over, the forest clearing comes to life. A single tree stump rises in the middle of a small lake formed by the rain's puddle. From the nearby trees, the dripping drops create a sweet melody and when the clouds clear, the water reflects the sky on it's surface.
Your eyes deceive you for a moment. Are the reflections of the stars moving - or are those little glowing bugs? You watch as they dance to the rhytm of the raindrops and dews as they fall on leaves and into the lake. The fairies greet you between the stars. Their music keeps you company - and guards you - during your journey through the forest.

When the foliage grows thicker and the magic you've felt before dissipates, you finally notice you are lost. The trees look at you, unsure if you're worth their trust. The air has a pressure here, and when all light disappears, you are sure the forests speaks. It's a trial, and it is judging you.
The rocks roll before you, as you almost trip and fall. The leaves cut your face and the trees keep pushing you out. They're complaining and you're on trial.
"We do not like strangers" - the forest trolls say, and their faces blend with the trees around you. As they loom closer and closer you feel a sudden push! - and you're out of the lightless part of the forest. The rocks beneath you roll back into the darkness and two large trees stare into you. The path you came from is now closed. You have no choice but to move on - deeper and deeper into the forest.

As you walk deep into the forest you notice how dark it suddenly became, even the moonlight seems to have disappeared for a moment there. You feel a chill down the spine as small dots of blue light sparkle around the shadows of the tree tops.
"When the forest is too dark and the once calming breeze turns into an eerie reminder of how alone you are, that's when they are more likely to appear" You remember that old saying, or maybe it was whispered in your ear just now? Hard to say, you check your lantern and it's flame is now of a blue dancing fire, the many Will O' Wisps fly around you. Yes, they're now here and they bounce with their fire like bodies to guide your eyes and your steps through the path ahead.

You follow the trail of light in the forest, noticing that they are slowly fading until they grow rare to the eye. So is are the trees and bushes, now the only thing ahead of you are...Huge and bright coloured pumpkins! They seem fresh and their green leaves even glow a little.
The once silent forest is now full of laughter and the sound of musical instruments, a singing party is coming your way, they smile as they harvest the pumpkins.
Before you could say anything, these dragons, as bright coloured as the pumpkins themselves, invite you to their harvest festival, they dress you with flowers, link your hands to theirs and dance in circles. Soup, bevarage and pies are served, you sing and enjoy their merry festival to the fullest!
The festival ends when the sun light is almost gone. Every dragon run back to their lairs in order to rest, but they did not forget about you, friendly stranger, they give you supplies and point to the safest path so you can follow your journey.

The once noisy and friendly community is far behind now, the path is long and became rather quiet even for your tastes. At least the moonlight is there to keep you company as you enter what seems to be long forgotten ruins of the forest.
These ruins are full of magic, runes and...dragons, that are sitting all over the place in small research groups. They all have many glyphs on their bodies, you can't quite tell if they were painted on their scales or if this is the result of some ancient enchantment performed on themselves.
No dragon pays attention to you, as they are too busy studying magic and reading long scrolls.
A Pearlcatcher's gaze meet yours and she signs for silence.
"Now" she says
"Be careful for even the stones you step on may contain mysteries yet to be studied and solved. We gladly accept those who seek knowledge, but as you may have noticed we have too many apprentices at the moment to keep our eyes on, so you should leave"
Her runes get brighter as she motions to a group of agitated Spirals at the back of the ruins, probably the apprentices she reffered to. The Pearlcatcher then sighs and you agree, maybe you should leave them alone...

As you leave the ancient ruins behind the path once again becames quiet, nothing but the sound of little frogs fill the air. Said sounds get louder as you walk, like a whole colony of frogs is nearby somewhere...Wherever it is you cannot find it for the moon is now hidden by a passing cloud, everything around you vanished in the dark of the night.
And even though your steps are steady and carefull you bump into something big, you feel leaves, small plants and even the wet touch of a frog's back blocking your way. Two bright eyes stare at you and as the cloud goes away from the sky, the pale moonlight reveals a giant Snapper right in front of you. She's covered in moss, plants and small animals walk around her scales. It's almost like she's a living part of the forest.
"Oh, I'm sorry little one" she says in a soft toned voice.
"Was I sleeping in the middle of the road again?" she chuckles
"You see, little one, I was making my way to a near pound when I noticed the fullmoon, it's so beautiful and bright that I relaxed too much and ended up falling asleep"
She motions to the sky and both of you stare at the moon for a few minutes, no words, just the sound of the frogs and the little birds that nest on her back.
You sigh, yes, that was indeed a very relaxing time, you even forget that you were supposed to keep walking, you open your mouth to bid farewell, but the Snapper fell asleep again right in front of you!
You clear your throat to call her attention, she wakes up again.
"Oh, my apologies little one, I must be on my way now, I need a sip from the nearest pound...." Somehow she makes her way through the deep forest and vanishes....you keep walking.
