[center][font=cortel][size=3][i]A stage. Lanterns hang from the sides of the open curtains, shedding haphazard splotches of light atop the wooden floors. Dragons sat gathered in the audience, their faces hidden beneath the veil of darkness. Not a single sound is made, and then -
Music flows from the void and out comes a dragon, her genes engineered to pull the most eyes to her. Her colors a once crude combination have been perfected to be alluring. A myriad of silks caress her figure as she sways with the beat, enrapturing her audience with her fluid motions. Hundreds of eyes follow her form, but not one of them notices the sleek obsidian steel that slips out from her claw.
No one notices it fly through the crowded theatre, straight into the throat of her target in the first row, so close to the stage. The lanterns don't offer enough light for anyone to see it. His death is quick, painless, but everyone notices that. Feigning shock and ignorance, the dancer retreats in fright, as does the most of her audience, who push past each other in attempt to flee from the crime scene. Backstage, the dancer's panic is swept away by steely resolve as she is flanked by her guard, one of similar colors and genes.
Another dragon meets her, covered in a cloak as to hide their persona, and hands the dancer a small sack. Coins jingle heavily in her claw, and without a word, the visitor leaves, slipping into the mass flood of escaping dragons.
Never had a kill of hers been so public, but that is never a problem. Sometimes sacrifices must be made, and though the theatre may temporarily suffer through the lack of ticket purchases, their services will not dwindle. As a dancer of the Blood Moon, this was her calling. She turns and moves through the theatre to where her Head is waiting for a report. A confirmation that the screeches of dragons are of success, and not failure. The Wildclaw before her is dressed in similar silks, and the dancer offers her a single nod, tossing her the bag of coin. Her Head says no words whilst stepping away to disappear deeper into the theatre, most likely to deal with the commotion outside.
The dancer, returns to her room till her services are required once more.

Blood Moon Dancers are a group of well known performers who dawdle in the art of assassination. Though most of their services are entertainment based, they are often known to have more sinister intentions upon being hired. They are all taught how to dance and enrapture their audience with their movements so the kill comes completely unexpected. This, of course, is on the down-low, since word about these dancers being notorious assassins will lead to a reduction in their sales. The price for their services is incredibly high, as this establishment only offers the best to their dancers and others in their service. More often than naught, private dances are offered when dirty deeds are necessary, but public ones are also possible, though at a much higher cost. Requests for any sort of performance must be brought to the Heads of each House, and they pick the most suitable dancer for the job.
Each House is lead by a female Wildclaw, and female Wildclaw only. Their breed is very rare, and even if a male is born, it cannot be given a house of his own. If born, females are taught by their mothers how to run a house, but once they reach the appropriate age, are kicked from the house. No two female Wildclaw's can rule in the same house, as disputes are created, and it often leads to bloodshed and violence. When this happens, they pick a new name for their house - following the names of stars - and any dragon born from their offspring, or even engineered, is a part of the house. Female Wildclaws rarely take up a mate of similar rarity, since that would mean there was a higher chance of another female Wildclaw coming to be, and they view that was a threat.
No dragon can switch houses. The only time this is allowed is with males. Males are typically used for breeding, muscle, and servant duty. If a male does not have a mate, and finds a female who wants him in an opposite house, he may leave the house he is currently in. However, he is not allowed to leave his mate or that house and return to his original one. He is forced to stay there, and cannot leave his mate, unless she cuts it off. Engineered Wildclaws may also become heads of a house, however, they must first pass a test initiated by the original house, House Antares.
Dancers may branch off and live with other clans, but when a job comes in from their Head, they must obey. If the job is not completed and they refuse to accept it, they are officially stripped from their house, hunted down, and killed. No dancer has ever escaped alive, as when things get dire, the head of the House takes it upon herself to seek them out and finish the job.
Rarely do the males in a species pass the dancer test, however, certain breeds are given a chance. Wildclaws, Coatls, and Imperials are the only males that are given this opportunity, though rare, and must first speak with their house Head about it. They are a specialty, and are carefully constructed by the Heads themselves, to be just as perfect as the females. If a male is not a dancer, they are still treated on equal footing as the females, and are even given higher ranking jobs, such as treasurer, personal guards, etc.
Dragons may mate with others not in their subspecies, however, unless the offspring completely matches the requirements, they are not eligible to join their mother or father's House and become a dancer, or any other rank.
The Head is always right, and any order not followed directly is considered a violation of their House, and they may either be executed or chased off from it. Those who leave their Houses to join another are shamed, though they are still accepted in the line of work. However, any respect they had as a dancer is forgotten, and they are treated like a male would be treated. The Second is considered the eyes and the ears of the Heads, and so unless directly said by the Head herself, the Second is always right when the Head is absent. Any kind of disagreement with the Second is treated the same way if with a Head. However, the House member may call for one Blood Hearing, in which she can appeal to the Head if she firmly believes that the Second has done wrong. However, in this, the sole judge is the Head herself, and is located on the stage. Both dancers must perform a dance of their own while explaining to the Head why they are correct or have been wronged. All the other members of the House are called back from wherever they are to watch the spectacle - both a warning and a showing of how much the Head cares for them, if she decides that the Second is wrong. If the Second is wrong, since she is considered the voice of the Head, she is killed, and the dancer may take up her role, if she so wishes. If the dancer is wrong, she is killed, and the Second remains in her position. These Blood Hearings can be called between dancers, though most of the time the Second resolves any petty conflict. Still there are some exceptions, such as killing another dancer’s hatchling, especially a female one.
Males are treated like petty servants, though some could take the Rite of the House, which is what all dancers take before they officially become dancers for the House. If a male manages to become a dancer, usually they are resented by the females and are ignored, even taunted. The Head, though supposed to have no bias, does show preference to the female dancers, but admires the male's skill if he has any, and will make sure he is treated fairly. As a dancer, males cannot move from House to House, despite being males. They must stick with the House. If they wish to take a mate in another House, or if a female wants them to, they must strip themselves of their title, and they will not have the option to retake the Rite of the House again.
Targets mostly consist of those who have personally wronged the House - whether it be mistreating dancers, if one was hired for a simple gig without any killing, or those who didn't pay them back. Dancers can also convince the Head to allow for missions against anyone whom has mistreated a dancer, even if it wasn't on a job, and just in general, if the dancer was hurt, or is just petty enough to ask for it. Some clans may hire them to get on the inside and distract their targets. They are an open service, but background checks are heavily enforced on any client in case something goes awry. If a dancer is killed while performing a duty for another clan or dragon, whoever killed the dancer will be hunted down and killed as well, either by the Head herself, or the deceased dancer's mate, or one of her friends. That clan is officially barred from using their services.
