We are OPEN/CLOSED ~ Taking requests/ping list add-ons!

Here in the Savannah Danaus Hatchery, hatchlings romp around while waiting for their new homes.

Before you pick out a new hatchling to bring back to your lair, please read the rules first!

Rules

All hatchlings are first-come first-serve.
Be polite when asking for hatchlings or when asking to be added to the ping list.
It's your responsibility to tell me if you'd like to be taken off the pinglist!
All hatchlings will be sold Unnamed.
If you are to exalt, please name them before hand!
No need to ping me; I am subscribed!
Please do not set up a crossroads asking for a dragon, please post your interest here and I'll set up the crossroad.

How to Purchase
Until the next clutch is hatched, all hatchlings will remain off of AH. Once the next clutch is ready to hatch, the hatchlings from the previous clutch will be listed on AH. Hatchlings will be listed on AH in either gems or treasure. If you are interested in purchasing a hatchling that's listed on AH, but want to pay using a different rate, ping me and I'd be happy to set up a Private Auction or CR. More often than not I will list a hatchling for more on AH than I would here in the hatchery. So please make sure to ping me if you'd like to take advantage of the hatchery pricing, otherwise you'll end up paying full AH pricing.

Base Price: 48kt

For an additional 20kt I'll write up a small lore story to go with your hatchling based on a brief personality description you provide (Or I'll come up with one on my own and have it be a surprise for you)!
Also, for an additional 50k, I'll create a small adoptable bust for your new hatchling (as seen in the lore section).

Discounts

You can only apply for up to 30% worth of discounts! Newbies have their own rates.

These discounts apply to an order, not individual dragons unless you only buy one.

50% - Newbie Discount! Only applicable if you've been here for a month or less.
20% - Wind Flight discount.

Just let me know which color you want the Tertiary to be and which gender, and I will mark your name down on the reservations list! Then, when that nest hatches, you get a letter in the mail letting you know your baby has hatched and is ready for you to pick it up.

The Building Of A Clan - Lore

As the sun blazed relentlessly upon the Savanna, the sounds of bugs buzzing about the cluster of Herdbeasts pierced the silence. With the heat trickling on the horizon in a beautiful mirage, the Herdbeasts didn't even know they were no longer alone. Just down wind of them a young Savannah Danaus, that goes by the name Baobab, lay in wait while his hunting partner, Acacia, circled around the cluster.

Baobab had camouflage on his side, laying low to the ground, his Ivory pelt allowed him blend in with the scorched elephant grass surrounding him. With the heat forming a thick mirage only a few feet away, you'd have to really be looking for him to spot him on the prowl. Acacia on the other hand had a bright teal underbelly and wings, he required a different approach to the hunt; Speed. Acacia was much smaller than Baobab, making him lighter on his feet.

Acacia laid as low to the ground as he could, concealing his colors until he was a mere ten feet from a young Herdbeast. Then seemingly out of nowhere, Acacia springs from the ground, wings expanded in a flash of blue and his roar echoed out over the entire savanna.
This action sent the Heardbeasts into a frenzy. They began to dart every which way as Acacia tore through the cluster snapping at hind legs.

This is what Baobab was waiting for. Almost double Acacia's size, Baobab waited for an adult Herdbeast to get close enough before leaping from the grass and landing upon the creature's back. Talons sinking into the Herdbeast's haunches, Baobab reared his head back and latched onto the creature's neck with a ironclad grip.

Once Acacia heard the Herdbeast cry out in agony, he knew the plan had worked. Spinning on a dime, Acacia darted his way towards the pair. Dodging the bucking hooves, a single blow from an adult Herdbeast could easily break a bone, Acacia weaved in and out of the herdbeast's path, nipping at its legs, causing the creature to stumble and collapse. Once on the ground, Acacia too launched himself upon the creature, and that was when the Savannah Danaus' knew they had a meal for today.

Acacia stretched his wing out wide before collapsing in the shade of a solitary tree. The summer heat in the savanna mixed with a belly full of Herdbeast meat made the small Savannah Danaus sleepy. ”I'm honestly surprised at the size of this one.” His head motioning towards the half devoured carcass.

Baobab dug at the dirt below with his massive talons, pulling his limp body further into the shade. Head plopping down along side of Acacia, he playfully snapped at the other male's muzzle. “You would be surprised, a small thing like you could never catch a meal like this without someone like me around.”

Acacia snorted before weakly swinging a talon at Baobab's face. “Hey now! You are just as lucky to have me around. Herdbeasts are way too fast for someone as large as you. Without ME, you'd just be smelling their downwind trail!”

The two laughed to themselves as the sun began to set in the distant horizon. Acacia and Baobab have been hunting partners for three years now. They met when Baobab had an unfortunate run-in with a rogue Snapper. Baobab always being a prideful hunter, challenged the Snapper over food and got his right wing shattered under the Snapper's weight. Acacia saw the fight going on in the distance and decided to intervene for the sole reason that Baobab was another Wildclaw. Using his speed, Acacia was able to lure the Snapper away to a safe distance that allowed Baobab to escape without further harm. It was a few months after that altercation that they met up once again and this is when they decided to team up as a hunting pair.

As the sun set behind the horizon and the faint glow of the sun gave way to the shining stars above, Acacia and Baobab contemplated what to do with the leftover meat from today's kill. If they left it out, it would attract other predators to this location. But they just didn't have the room to stomach anymore. Swept away with thoughts, a full belly, and tiredness, the two Savannah Danaus did not realize that much like the Herdbeasts earlier, they were no longer alone. To their advantage though, a small twig snapped under their unexpected guest's foot, and with a blink of an eye, Acacia was in the air and then upon the intruder. Baobab rose cautiously as the scuffle happened a few feet from him. Just a flash of feathers, talons, and teeth could be seen in the darkness. Yet, that is when Baobab caught the scent of the intruder and rushed in breaking the fight up.
