So I have a friend who has tried to register right this morning, and the username and password works with the Zendesk support site, but does not work on Flight Rising at all. When he tried to reregister, it said that his username- the one that didn't exist on the site til now- was already in use. Apparently, he never got the original link to the site to confirm his account was made!

He's tried everything short of making a new account. He's sent in a trouble ticket, which he's waited on for almost a day now on. He tried resending the email and trying a different code. He's switched though all the major accounts online, and is getting very very frustrated with the whole process. He's even tried to correct this via "lost password", and has received email confirmation that both his name and passwords have gone though.


His username is Varathael, if I can get a mod in here to help him out!

Edit: to clarify, he is at a Hotmail account. He first registered, but never got the final confirmation link. Tried to ask for another one, was told his account was invalid. He tried to remake the account, but was told that name/ email was already in use. He's tried resetting the password, same issue. And He's been sending his support ticket every few hours.

If it says the username is in use when he register, it is in use even if it doesn't show up when you search it. There are a few reasons why a username doesn't show up in search - the account is banned, or they set their account to invisible. Just choose a different username.

Unless I'm understanding his problem wrong and there's more than just an username is already in use problem.



If he thinks that the username is his and no one had used before him, the reset password should send an email to the email he registered with that name. If he doesn't receive an email, then it's more than likely the name does not belong to him, and the password reset request had sent to someone else's account with the name.

Okay I'm wrong, the above link doesn't go anywhere, but the search did say there's 1 result which is likely to be your friend's. But since there's no clan page, it seems that your friend hasn't finished the registration, meaning it's likely he hasn't done the last step of email verification. Has he received a confirmation email from FR when he register the first time? Or if he received any email at all (including the time when he asked for password reset)? When you said the username and password 'doesn't work on FR at all', what kind of error message did he get? Also if he received any email, there should be a link for him to click in them, or was it not there?

When he created the account this morning, the username was not in use. It never was in use by another person. He created it, and has used it on many other sites before.. It sent the verification email after he requested them to resend it when it didn't go through the first time. He clicked it and it verified. Then, when he tried to recreate it after it was saying there is no record of that username, it said the username was already in use.

He also told me that his email is invalid/already in use when he tried to recreated it. He can long into Zendeck and the help center, just not on the site itself.

Alright, got it now. So after he got the verification email, did he click a verification link which will bring him back to the site with a cap'tcha verification at the bottom? If he hasn't done that part yet, then the account is there for him, but hasn't activate yet. And since the account is created, of course he cannot re-create it again.

I don't know what Zendesk is. :(

@hat17 He received a email, and when he clicked on the link, it send him here, https://flightrising.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests not to the actual site itself. On here, it said his account was vailidated. But on the site, it says that the account was not validated.

That's not the verification link. It's more like a place to send ticket or ask questions when you cannot access the site, or something. Is there only one link in the email? So let me get this straight, he registered, got no email, so he asked to send the confirmation email again, and got an email direct him to zendesk? When did he send the reset password request?

Totally didn't fall asleep at the keyboard, no sir ree. Did not almost accidently shoved the keyboard up my nose.

Bingo. He never got a confirmation email at all, and when he asked for his to be resubmitted, he got told all his account details were off.

He first submitted his first ticket at around 8am site time

Seeing your edit, can he make a gmail to resend the conformation to? I don't know if that's how it works but I know its recommended to use gmail to prevent emails from getting lost like this.

If not, has he sent a contact us-not one to stormlight but to just FR? It can take a while for them to be responded though.

He cannot change the email until his account goes though, unfortunately.

And the trouble ticket went directly to the Stormlight Zendeck support site. This ticket was filed under the Contact Us page with his email and the like.
