TOPIC | Half of site nonfunctional in Chrome
Since rollover when I use Chrome (my usual browser) only the parts of the site whose addresses resolve to https://flightrising.com […] are functional. Other parts of the site whose addresses resolve to http://www1.flightrising.com […] just display the FR logo stretched to fill the screen. This means affected pages include login and the forums (but not for example my lair or gathering).

I'm using Chrome version 67.0.3396.99 on a Windows 10 laptop.
I had to log in via Microsoft Edge in order to post this bug report.

edit: I manually cleared my cache but nothing changed.

There's been a few reports from mobile users and people with Win10 who've been running into something like this. Nobody is really clear about what is causing it but it's been showing up in people who use Chrome, Win10 and Safari.

With that sort of variety I'm fairly sure it's an app/add-on/extension that is affecting the www1.flightrising.com pages. Have you tried an incognito/private browsing window to see if that works? If it does it's definitely some app/add-on/extension. If not it's likely some update to one of the above related to security issues.

You've got the best description of the problem and it may have to do with how FR does not encrypt most pages and only partially encrypts the log-in page. You might try whitelisting www.flightrising.com and www1.flightrising.com as well as poking around in Windows Defender and Chrome's settings to see if your security is blocking non-https pages.

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.

Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
@Nightwind

I tried opening an incognito window and got the same stretched logo... but then the logo faded out and was replaced by a message in very large type saying "This website uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website."

I'm not sure where I would need to whitelist FR or why I should suddenly need to anyway after months of everything working fine on this computer using Chrome. (I do use Avast but IDK if that's what you meant.) The fact that the problem showed up right after rollover when everything was working fine before rollover suggests that something changed on FR's end rather than something on mine though I suppose that could be a coincidence.

When I have a chance I will look at me WD & Chrome setting and see if I can find anything that might be causing the problem. Thanks for your detailed reply!

Hmn. Incognito gives me the stretched message about cookies but the rest of the page loads normally.

Whitelisting is a measure to take so that your antivirus (yes, Avast is one) will automatically clear a site regardless of any updates. Antivirus software updates, or should at least call home and see if more updates are available, more than once a day so things change rapidly there.

Have you tried a different browser or a different version of your browser? I'm using a slightly different version, Chrome 67 on Windows 7: 68.0.3440.84 and the site has been working normally.

I don't know if the solution was staring me in the face the whole time or not but...

I finally had time to figure out how to whitelist sites in Avast (in-application help was no use; I had to Google) and it of course made no difference. So next I tried restarting my computer; that also made no difference.

Then ...I tried using Ctrl - and it turns out that for whatever reason the pages were all just zoomed way in. I feel a bit silly for not thinking to check that sooner but since you said other people have been having the same issue I figured I had a moral obligation to help them out.

It's possible one or more of the intermediate steps is also necessary.

Thanks again for your assistance in any case.
