The cancel button on the pop up box when naming a dragon is white, so it blends into the background. For a moment, I thought there was no cancel button and had to refresh the page, but when I checked again it was there, but its white like the background.

Just cancel button is white. And I've checked. It just has not icon. Else you can cancel. It's on right and top

I'm pretty sure that's deliberate, it's common across the site. You can press escape to get out of the naming option.

I don't think it is. That's the only pop up box I've found that doesn't have it. Other pop up boxes typically have the X icon in the top right corner, but for the naming it's absent, even though it is still functional. It's not a major issue but it's still worth noting. I am still going through the site to check to see if it's anywhere else.

Huh. Guess I just never needed most of the ones that do have them and therefore never noticed! Auction house x is also invisible, and I'm pretty sure there's others, but heck if I can remember where they are.

Yeah, I never really noticed it either until I accidentally went to name a dragon I didn't want to name.
After some digging, it turns out not all pop up boxes have the X icon. Those that don't usually don't need it because they have a large "Cancel" button at the bottom instead of the X button at the top. So it's not a consistency issue and you were right that it is by design that some pop ups don't have it.
But with the naming one though, the X button is functional, but the icon is just missing. So I would say that still is a bug.
