I currently have a wacom inutos draw tablet and am using the software that came with it: ArtRageLite. I have a budget of about $40 and I'm looking for something user-friendly and well-preforming. If anyone has any recommendations, i'd love to hear it. Thanks in advance!

Edit: It has to be compatible with Mac OS X

I've used PaintTool Sai for years, really reliable, smooth pen drawings with a variety of tools- I thiiink it's between £15-£25? well worth it!

That looks really good, but I have a Mac, and it's incompatible. Thanks though!

FireAlpaca is totally free and has a Mac version. It gives you one advertisement (it doesn't make noise and you can immediately close it) whenever you open the program, but it's simple and easy to learn.

There's also Krita, which is a free program like Gimp, but it has better brushes, 32-Bit support, Vector Layers, Transform Masks, Filter Masks, Perspective Tools and Animation Tools.
I'm not sure how good it already works on Mac OS X, though...

@WalrusHerobrine Manga Studio Pro 5/Clip Studio Paint is so wonderful! (MS is the disk version; Clip studio is the exact same thing, but downloadable) I used PS in the past (and still have PS CC for fiddling with things) and painter, but was mostly a traditional artist. And Manga Studio is great and feels so much closer to actual pen in hand art than Photoshop.

It's currently $49.99, but one of the versions goes on sale quite often! Still, I truly think it's a steal at that price! The trial is free and full-featured, I think (don't quote me on that!)

/Edited to remove over-usage of "Wonderful" *needs new superlatives*

@walrusherobrine i have a mac and i use photoshop cc. photoshop in general is a nice program for art, it's very versatile for things like adding gradients and easy image adjustments.
