This very long and off-topic thread is primarily a fan thread for the [url=http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/baz/1766234]Oakrest lore hatchery[/url] run by ixris. No knowledge of Oakrest beforehand is needed to join; we welcome both Oakrest dragon owners who want a dumping ground to sporadically gush about their babies as well as stray lore clans (or lore clans in progress) that just want a place to discuss their ideas.
However, we are aware that 1) humans are complicated and 2) the internet is not always the best medium for properly expressing intent. When discussing sensitive topics, please issue a warning beforehand for the sake of those who might be upset by such things. In turn, if you are made uncomfortable by something, please tell us so we can change the topic. Always remember to ask for clarification if unsure of somebody else's intentions. ~<3

Aaaanyway, I am now following this thread so I can see all of the lovely things we all say and do~ I'm very excited at the idea of working with all of you to integrate our lore! I've made ties with other clans before, but never ones with the potential to be this strong and this gosh-darned interactive!
I think all the dragons born of the lovely Brightwork and Shula have a powerful ability to provoke lore-writing. In fact, it was many months ago, when I bought
Equinox (who was a lovely lore project by ixris), that REALLY got me into writing big, long lore pieces for some dragons instead of just the 2-3 paragraph summaries I was so accustomed to. And now it's all been thrown back into full force with this final nest! Seeing all of the creativity and love going into these dragons has made me want to get back into my bio writing and really try to flesh out my clan.

My clan lore is kind of a mess. I kept the normal territories and basically just.. made the world a giant feudal society with a bunch of kingdoms and empires around. Basically, blew up the world map and made it kind of huge to accommodate all this.
My clan was originally just a mercenary band created by my progenitor Aldebaran. They were Arcane based but didn't stay a mercenary band for long because for soooome reason, they kept running into priests, monks, and healers who are kind of slightly against that sort of thing. They then became a somewhat respectable guild that.. that did something, I guess. I suppose they did the exact same work but just became more legit about it, whatever that means.
My current clan head Adhara was a noble from some empire based in the Sea of a Thousand Currents and originally was sent over to Dragonhome for some marriage alliance with a minor lord. On the way there, somebody tried to off one of the other diplomats she was traveling with and everything figuratively went to hell. Luckily Aldebaran was there with the guild and actiony things happened. People died, probably. There was a minor war over the border with Plague.
Something something intrigue, they got to Dragonhome and found that the clan Adhara was supposed to go to had been slaughtered conveniently and more actiony things happened.
End result is that my clan isn't really a kingdom but it has a heck of a lotta imperial.. imperials, clergy, ands mages and what they do is plant their banner by the Pillar of the World and make sure nobody tries to kill each other in the nearby vicinity with limited success.

My lore as a whole isn't 100% figured out yet. My clan is made up of dragons from many different flights who basically fell together through necessity or wandered into the group and just stayed. There are the leaders, my progens who I still have to write lore for. A teacher, healer, a bard/jester type, etc. They don't have much contact with other dragons at this point. Since my lore is still so early in development it could honestly go in any direction at this point.
As for my Oakrest migrants, I have Boniface and Eilif because I felt that if Boniface didn't really focus on clothing other dragons in the clan, then he needed somebody who would. That's why Eilif came into the clan also. Then I have Jay the tundra who I'm thinking of as an adventuring healer. I know where she fits in my head but still have to get it all worked out? Like everything else, haha.
Currently I guess I would call my clan a roving group, though they do sort of have a lair which in my head is a sprawling cave system on the edge of some volcanic plain type thing, somewhere that grass still grows, etc.

This is like the COOLEST THING?!??!???? I have never seen a group come together so swiftly to make sure that the kids from a single nest wind up in good homes, and I am stupidly flattered that you all got on board together to do it! AND stupidly flattered to read how inspired you all have been by the Oakrest dragons!
Also - Moonlace - Mirai is the most handsomely dressed skydancer I believe I have ever seen, and I bet Brightwork will be pleased as punch to collaborate with him. X3
Also-also - graphicmacaroon - I SAW THAT IN YOUR KIDS' BIOS and thought "what a great freaking idea!" Your layouts for your lore is SO COOL, and it seriously makes it pretty dang easy to read what's going on. X3
