So, this is my first drawing of a FR dragon. Its just a simple line drawing of my progen mirror. Again this is my first time so I need some opinion on what should be done better and is this good enough as a drawing for sale. Please comment and I don't mine critique! Just please be respectful. Here's my first dragon drawing! I finished my second improved version of my progen mirror!, again, I need some comments to know what to further improve on. Again, please be respectful! Here it is! I'm subscribed!

For a first drawing, it's pretty descent. I'd recommend to draw out a base "skeleton" of the dragon in 3h pencil (if you're inking it) in order to give the body a more natural flow of movement. Also, I recommend to use a reference, especially for the areas you struggle with (*cough**cough* the feet *cough*). And even of you did/do use reference, the base "skeleton" will help with placement of little things. When drawing FR dragon feet, I tend to start with the claws, as it's a simple shape, then finish the fingers/toes. You're art will definitely improve the more you practice drawing FR dragons, I know mine did!

Hey, this is really good for a first time mirror! Rather than point out anything specific, since Pax seemed to cover the major things, I'll give you some references to help you get used to drawing dragons! Since FR dragons aren't real, obviously, it can be hard to find good references- if you just look at others' artwork, you won't notice what's a style choice and what's accurate, so it can be hard to work on anatomy! And learning anatomy is a pretty big part of drawing. For example, check out a mirror's crests. Again, they don't exist in real life, but what do they remind you of? Perhaps... A frilled lizard? And those weird claws! You can't look at a real dragon's claws! Oh, wait. Komodo dragon. Now, I won't clog this thread with more pictures, but you get the idea! Using references of real animals will help you out a lot. And remember, it's okay to draw over a pic for reference- never claim it as your art, of course, but drawing guidelines over a ref can help you learn! As for selling, I'd wait until you practiced a bit more before heading to Art Sales, but don't worry, you're definitely getting there!

This is very good for a first FR dragon artwork! You seem to have things mostly well proportioned, not everyone can see the 'big picture' like that. It's not skewed either which is nice, sometimes when I see traditional drawing of new subjects, they look like the lines go off to the right (because a right-handed person drew it, for instance).

Some points to work on: A lot of people have been mentioning the feet, but they didn't actually tell you why they thought they weren't right. It's fine to have pointy claws, that's kinda exactly what claws are supposed to be like! But what I think is slightly off is that your progen's toes/feet aren't lying flat on the 'ground', rather they seem to be on the tippy-toes. At the moment the toes are pointing down-wards, I recommend trying to envision your dragon standing on grass and draw the toes more forward-facing. Your leg placement is fine tho.

The Mirror crest is up a little high on the head, next time I think it's would be nice to see them lowered a little. Refer back to your progen's image to see what I mean. The crests aren't lined up well either, the back one should be less view-able from the angle that you've drawn your dragon.

Lastly, and this is a bit knit-picky, the area where the neck and head joins is a bit incorrect. The line is drawn at quite a sharp angle under the jaw. Try smoothing it out into an 's' shape, or make the jaw-line more well defined.

Hope this helps for next time, you're doing great!!

Absolutely beautiful! For my art, I look at how some of the dragons are drawn on here. Great job though! :D
