So last night I drew my only male Ridgeback.
I would like to open a gem and USD art shop, but I need help with pricing. USD is more important to me, so I would like my gems prices to be severely skewed upwards.
I would also like just your opinion! Do you like my style? What do you especially like or dislike about it?

Time for a harsh critique. Your shading and lines and proportions are all very nice and clean but if you're wanting people to pay money for art, esp. RL money, you're gonna have to find a style that is unique to you.
You need a pull.
Atm your style is pretty stock standard in the artsales forums. For a more unique style; some people change up the look of dragons from FR-style, some people animate, some people add texture and detail, some specialized in colour. There's lots of room for variation.
Even with these you might not get many sales but if you continie working at it I'm sure you'll eventually reach your goal!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm actually experimenting with some different styles already, so I'll see how that goes. I've thought about adding scale and fur texture, but I sometimes have problems concentrating on a piece if it starts taking too long. I'm mostly messing around with pose and shading atm.

Good to hear that you have the initiative and drive to mix it up. Losing concentration happens to me as well, the only advice I have for that is to push through with it little by little until it's finished >_<
Maybe something you could try is not using black for the outline or no outline at all? You current way of shading is soft and the lines you have now are a little sharp?

That's a good idea. I've done lineless before, but I was unimpressed with the final piece compared to the amount of effort. But thinner or different colored lines might work....

CrAZDragon I think that is worth about 200 gems? Possibly 100, I'm not sure.
Critique: I think you're one of those artists who try to make everything realistic. Try going for a more cartoon-y style, or even traditional! Also, when you put too much shine on a dtawing, to me it looks like the content of the piece is made out of plastic ;-;
So that's my version of criticism XD

Your Ridgie's a cutie!
You've got a nice grasp of the basic forms. Ridgeback heads are hard, being pretty much all triangles. And that's a hard shape to get to come across. But this sells it pretty well. :3
One thing I would try is maybe having several intensities of shiny/highlight. Frex, his throat scales, which are underneath him, have the same brightness as the brightest spots on his horns, which are more in direct light. You've got a lot of shadowing going on, but because the lower half of him has just as strong highlights as the upper, it all ends up feeling a little washed out.
If you haven't poked around it before,
James Gurney's blog has some great posts about shadows and how they interact with objects (as well as a wealth of other art tips).
